I just realized that in my huge pile of designer papers I don't have almost anything suitable for bigger boys. I have some little boy ones with cutie animals, trucks and such, but what I'm looking for is something suitable for a card with a rock star, skateboarder, surfer dude or such...
any ideas? what companies/collections do YOU use?
thanks a lot and I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
I tend to use solid colour papers for men, but I'd be in a bind too if I had to do something for a teenager. Sorry, I don't have any paper line suggestions (I don't really pay attention to the "lines" I just buy papers as I see them - too much like following fashion for me). I'm big time into digital stuff again right now so I usually design my own paper if I need something specific and print it out.
I've seen a lot of interesting digital papers too, but I don't have a color printer so it's not an option for me right now.

I went to check their site and you are right - I saw a lot of earthy/vintage colors that could be used for masculine cards - maybe not exactly for teens, but I'll keep graphic 45 in mind ;)
thanks for the tip

A lot of folks don't know that The Angel Company carries both heavy and lightweight DP paper packs. I was super surprised (and pleased, no more hoarding my paper for something really special!) to see the prices were marked down in the new catalog.
These are two of my favorite male/teen papers...they are both Basic Grey type paper weight.
For masculine projects I like Cosmo Cricket - (Wanted, the Boyfriend, Halfway Cafe, and Cogsmo (for the little ones)), the new Tim Holtz papers, and there is an older Crate Paper line with surfers and skulls but I can't remember the name of it. There was a Die Cuts with a View line a while ago that was a Rock Star line, too.
Creative Memories has designer paper that would work well for teen guy cards:
- Discover Motor Grunge
- Discover Rock Grunge
- Primary Extreme Sports
And there are others that would work, in a variety of sports themes.
Also, when I worked at Archiver's several years ago, we had Harley Davidson designer paper with really cool textures and designs. I don't know if these are still available. HTH
thanks for all the great tips - the only craft store here is Michaels, so I'm heading there right now to see what they have ;)
then I'll start looking online
I like the Basic Grey papers - they have that "grungy" look that works for teen boys. I don't use much pattern - stripes mostly if I use patterned paper for guy cards.
I went to Michaels and found some cool papers from We R Memory keepers - white out collection - love the color combination (orange, blue, green, brown) - now I just need to make a card with them ;)

Creative Imaginations has several Star Wars themed papers that are appropriate for older boys, I'm not sure if it would work for teens. I have a very big Star Wars fan in my house and was so excited to find those papers!
I make a lot of older boy cards as I have a 13 year old boy who likes to have me make gift card holders for his friends who have birthdays and I have a customer who buys cards from me who has two older grandsons. I also use this paper for the autograph books I make for customers for WDW. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...&id=1477226451
As well, you can easily add another masculine element simply by distressing and inking edges, and a bit of tearing and ripping. I don't have a huge supply of stamps, embellishments or even paper that are necessarily geared for teen boys, but I think that you can achieve that type of look by grunging it up a bit! Another great embellishment too is metal hardware of any sort.
I love my PTI woodgrain impression plate specifically for this reason. Emboss a piece of Core'dinations, sand away a bit and instant masculine DP. I also like to make subtle striped papers, maybe a light blue with a darker blue pinstriping. I just use a ruler and a fine tipped marker to make those.
