Default Cute little sewing machine!!

Ok...I have read posts on here about it and it seems some love it some hate it. I went to Michael's today on my lunch break and saw one for $9.00 so I used my coupon and got it for $5.40. I couldn't pass it up. The thing is just too friggin cute. Even if it is a piece of poo poo it is still too darn cute. It is called the Sew Crafty Mini. It is made by Provo craft. I will keep yall posted on how it does!!!

I use mine all the time, just be careful when you take your card out from the machine so you don't pull all of your stitches out. I love mine, and use it all the time now.

It works great, but if you already know how to sew...read the instructions carefully. The item doesn't come out of the machine the same as a regular machine.

I agree about it not coming out of the machine.... that is why I quit using mine. How do you get it out without it pulling some stitches out? Maybe I need to give it another try.

You have to keep sewing past your paper to leave a tail and then try to tie a knot in the darn thing! It's not user friendly.

Not according to the instructions that came with my machine. You have to use your fingers to make a "tail" but it doesnt say anything about sewing past your finished project. I will try it and see though. Thanks for all of your input....Shanon

I have one and don't use it very much, but it is handy when I do need to sew something. It's kinda noisy though!

Just a word of caution. Mine sometimes has an oily residue on the metal needle area. I'm always leary of using it. I'd hate to waste cardstock.
Anyone else's do this?

Default Mini sewing machine

Hello...

Junk, with a capital J! Mine sits in it's cute little box collecting dust. I had high aspirations for that little machine as an easy way to stitch on cards. Even my MIL, who is a whiz with a sewing machine, couldn't get the thing to work properly or a stitch to stay in place without coming apart. Oh well, there is always the big machine and the ribbon stamps from Hero Arts. I'd use the store coupon and buy something else!

But, who knows, you might be able to make yours work and end up with fantastic results.

Hate it.

I don't have a problem with the chain stitch. What I have a problem with is getting it to stop when I want it to...the button seems to stick and then there I am banging on it trying to get it to stop. And getting it to go straight and not skip stitches. It's a pain in the patoot.

So I went back to using my big machine. It's in my stamp room and does a much better job.

If it's lousy, take it back. I bought one last year (i think) and it stunk. Especially hate that it's just a chain stitch. I took it back to Michaels and told them I hated it.

I got store credit, which is fine. It's easy to spend that much at Michaels!

Is sewing paper on a big machine bad for the machine? I want to give it a try.. but don't want to risk messing my machine up.
Thanks for the help!

Haha, I hope not, that's one of the main reasons I bought my "big girl machine." (That's what my 5yr old calls it. She's plays on my little "So Crappy." I never could figure out how to keep the stitches from coming out. )

Yeah - it is a piece of junk but you get what you pay for.

I can't seem to sew a straight line with the little gadget, and we figured out that you have to pull the thread back through the last hole on the back side to keep it from unraveling .... that is if you can get it unattached before that happens :o

My big machine has its own bobbin problems and sits inside a beautiful cabinet which is too much work to open up all the time.

Hey - what about the little template that I've seen used in some gallery samples, it looks like sewing machine needle marks without the thread? Can it be purchased outside of a kit?
