Default CTMH alphabet

I have a CTMH alpha (can't remebmer the name right now) that is about 1/2 for the caps. I bougth the caps, lower and numbers.

I was using it the other day on my nugget boxes, stamping "Rhea & Owen".
The first few came out without the h at all. I picked up the block and looked
at if from the side, and the h is actually LOWER than the other letters. I
ended up puting 4 layers of double stick tape just under the h, which brought
it up to the same level as the rest of the letters.

I have had trouble with even stamping with this set before, but it NEVER
occured to me that the letters wouldn't be level!!! I did actually blame
the stampers at the invite making we had a few weeks ago- sigh...

Do you think it is just that mine is defective, or has anyone else had trouble
with CTMH alphas? I love clear alphas cuz you can stamp whole words, but
knowing I have to check how even the letters are is pretty upsetting.

Note- this alpha also has the worst lower t- you can not tell that is what
it is supposed to be! so two strikes on the set already...

Thanks,
Anne

I have a CTMH alpha where they are not even too - it's the believe lowercase - I just do it the hard way and stamp each letter individually UGH
I'd bought it through an online friend's catty party, so I didn't want to spend more for shipping back & forth to return it KWIM so they still work and it's not you

Okay, thanks! Maybe I will hold off on any more alphas.

Are you using the foam that comes with the stamp set under your project when you stamp? Just checking because that usually helps get a better image.

yep I used the foam under it ;) it's not every letter mind you - so I'll give my word a shot on scratch paper & decide from there whether to stamp the word or letter by letter

Default CTMH Alphabets

Hi,

Have you gone back to the CTMH demonstrator? Maybe she could contact her corporate office if there is a problem.

If it's been too long and your demo can't contact corp to take care of this, my suggestion would be to put all the letters on the block to spell your word, and if you see that one isn't as thick...like the h is this instance...after you have the complete word on the block, take the h back off the block and leave the space there. Then, stamp the word, then you can go back and just stamp the h in...rather than stamping each letter one by one.

I will just have to stick with my layers of double stick tape I guess.
No more CTMH alphas for me!

Anne,
I'm sorry to hear you're swearing off CTMH alphabets. This is an obvious defect, and, if caught early could have been exchanged.
That's why it's always good to check products when they come in...although, I'm guilty of not always doing it too. <G> Heck...my Cricut Expressions sat in the box for 4 months before I even opened it! LOL!

what a bummer! i am so sorry you have had a problem. I LOVE CTMH alphabet sets - and I haven't ever had a problem. . . . but I think there's NOTHING that can be free from defects ALL the time. I have gotten stamps from other companines and had defects, but they have always replaced them.

I have the Army set that I bought from them when it first came out.. along with the blocks at all. I had it about a year and then and I had to start putting "shims" under the stamps in order to get clear images and usually it takes several times, so I use up scrap paper to get it ready.. waste of my time, money and energy to have to do this to get a clear image.. I never purchased another one of their sets. You can look at the set and see that it's "sunk" in the middle. Probably why I haven't ventured out to try other clear stamps. Pam

Don't blow off clear stamps all together:( There are lots of companies that are producting high quality clear stamps now (PTI, KSS). But I agree with you about CTMH! They are just awful! I am a SU demo and went to a party to see what they were all about. Not impressed! My sister has had several sets that don't stamp right and even after exchanging them, They still stamp very unevenly. I poo poo'd clear stamps for a long time because of this experience but have recently been very impressed with PTI and KSS! Gorgeous stamped images every time!
