Default Creating Sketches--How to?

I know there was a thread here at SCS about creating sketches, but I can't find it now. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Depending on what kind of photo editing program you have, it could be done in any number of ways But you can also create really sweet card sketches just using Word! Just go to insert and then shape and start creating a sketch! Does that help at all?

Hi, Melissa -- I'm not sure whether this is the thread you're thinking of, but I previously posted directions and a diagram for doing card sketches with Photoshop. Here are those two posts: Drawing card sketches in Photoshop.

I have Photoshop and have made a few sketches, but I would like to step them up a bit. Where do you find shapes that mimic the nestabilities?

Just different shapes I guess...you have to be careful about creating sketches with digital scrapbook kits because alot of them don't allow you to use their designs for that type of thing, otherwise that would have been a great option

I use Photoshop. In the program, there are many basic shapes that can be used: hearts, circles, flowers, etc.

Thanks everyone! I have photoshop and have made a few sketches now. For the most part, they turned out fine. I am having a little trouble with stroking the layers though.

Which layers, Melissa? The shapes? If so, first, make sure you are working in the same layer as the shape is, then you might try the magic wand tool to select the shape and then stroke.

I'm not sure if that's the difficulty you are experiencing, but it took me the longest time to figure out (on my own) that I was trying to "select" something with the magic wand tool in the wrong layer. Glad I finally figured it out cuz I was tearing out a lotta hair . . . *chuckle*
