I know corsage cards (multi-layered, multi-dimensional cards, often with 3D flowers) have been trending for some time, but while pretty, I think they have limited use. Does anyone else share this feeling?
I sure do. I find them fussy and over done... although they are beautiful. Just not my style. They may be something extra special for a parent's 50th anniversary or daughter's wedding, a keepsake more than a card. You couldn't put them in envelopes to mail either.
I love beautiful cards but don't find the heavy floral and lacy numbers appeal to me.
I feel the same. I LOVE them and they ARE my style - I LOVE fussy and overdone and the busy look. But I can't make those kinds of cards for my nephews or nieces since those cards have to be mailed. I try to send cards to them often so I don't really want to pay any surcharges on a regular basis. I can only make these "corsage" cards for my mom, or for someone where I can just hand them the card. That is really limiting!!
I think some are very beautiful and I'm in awe at the people who can do them. All of my cards get mailed and because of this I make them with just a few layers and keep the embellishments close to flat. Sometimes I see a card I like and CASE it my way, eliminating almost all the layers and 3D flowers but keeping things like lace and gems or pearls along with flat flowers.
TBH they are beautiful but if I were going to the trouble of making one I would make certain it could be "useful" - when I made cards with 3D felt flowers I made the flowers into pins that could be worn. Like this http://www.krikeykreations.blogspot....christmas
