Gina,
I am so sorry to hear about your luggage. I will be praying for you. My friend and I sat with you at the dinner I believe. I will get with her and see what we can send to you.
No news yet and hope is fading.. I wrote ml leangthy complaint letter to the airlines and one would think it would make me feel a little better but it didnt!
Considering I travel about 1/4 million miles a year you would think they would be concerned about losing my business!
I took some of your advice and sent an email to SU advising of my loss but I really doubt they will do anything about it and would quite honestly be suprised if they even respond. Its not their fault this happened- but it is worth a shot- even if I could re- purchase some stuff like the awesome heart dangly key chains that I LOVED!! ooooohhh Im so depressed!
I will keep everyone posted because it is still not considered "lost yet: 5 days are not up and I am hoping it appears and no ine took it by accident and kept it! we shall see.
Thanks agaiin for all of your posts that continue to make me feel better...a little.
This just stinks! I keep coming back to this thread to see if your luggage has been found, and my heart sinks everytime I see that it hasn't! My fingers are crossed!!!! I'd be absolutely sick!! But there are so many wonderful women on here that want to share their stuff with you - I think that is just wonderful!!!
I too was hoping to find a happy ending for you and your luggage but I will keep coming back to this thread hoping the lost has been returned.
You are in my thoughts

Hang in there. Last year after leadership I checked at the curb which I don't usually do. I 'm waiting to board my flight as I look at my luggage ticket. They had check my luggage for totally a different flight because I gave them my name and he check me in as William Boyer not Robin Boyer which was the flight the previous two people were going to Denver to Nebraska.
So I had no luggage and was told could not do anything about it until got to final destination fun watching the that flight go out with my luggage on it and could not do anything. When got to Newark they took a report.
Several days I got a call I had placed a name card in suitcase since by looking at the label did not know where it was suppose to go to. The gal from Nebraska was very nice and told my luggage wanted its own little vacation and it would be out on the next flight out.
I hope it is as simple as this for you. I will keep pleasant thoughts for you. Keep your chin up.
Rubber Hugs,
Robin

Stay on that phone girl! Bug, bug, bug the airlines! I'm guessing that everytime you call, you talk to someone different. Eventually, you might actually get to talk to someone who is willing to go the extra mile and do their best to help you. My DH travelled worldwide for eight years and we've found that any problem with the airlines, hotel, or car require constant calling to eventually get satisfaction!
Good Luck!

Gina, I have been reading and checking back here to see if your luggage has been found. I had an incident that happened years ago and you might check to see if this happened to you also. I was in San Diego flying to Dallas. My step-son's luggage had the tag on it and when we got to Dallas, the luggage was nowhere to be found. It was like that for several days. I did keep bugging the airport personnel, actually anyone who would listen or not. They finally found my luggage. It was in San Diego lost and found. There were apparently two tags on the luggage - one that said SAN and the other DAL. Well, the DAL side was turned over to where you couldn't see it and the SAN was right on top. Some how they thought this was a piece of luggage that hadn't been picked up and had just been sitting there waiting for its owner. Anyway, they did ship the luggage and I got it safe and sound.
I have been praying for you to get your luggage all in one piece with everything in it. I can't imagine having all of those wonderful items and for them to be lost. I believe also that it will show up. I just hope it is real soon.

That really stinks! One time at Christmas my luggage didn't show up when I did. I was freaking out. I stood in line for two hours (most of the luggage for my flight didn't show up). By the time I got to the front of the line the next flight came in with our luggage. Even though I was going to Mom & Dad's I wanted my own clothes and not have to borrow from other people!
I think it will show up....it has to! You can't live without that stuff!

Today is day 5 and the bag is officially considered "LOST" so after countless calls another claims form has been filled out. The reimbursement is a joke and I have been told not to give up hope as it may still appear.
I wish it was my clothes that disappeared.
On a brighter note I received a package of swaps from Fran in Seneca NY. What a thoughtful gesture I am so pleased to have these and I appreciate your kindness! That was so nice of you!!!
Oh Gina!!! This is your SCS dinner partner, Kimberly!!! I am so upset for you. I will get you some swaps in the mail. I bought extra key rings and will get one to you this week. I even have the heart one. Sweetheart, I just wish I could hug your neck. I had so much fun laughing with you at the dinner. I took down your address. Smooches and big hugs to you!!!

(((HHUUUGGGSS))) I'm so sorry Gina.. I keep hoping and praying it will turn up. Please keep us posted. Unfortunately I did not attend, but if I had, you could have had it all.
I can totally empathize with you. I arrived home with my DH and 2 of my 3 suitcases. Wouldn't you know - the suitcase I am missing contains ALL of my convention swaps, rubber stamps, scissors, and convention goodies. I don't care about the shoes and clothes and other personal belongings. I want my swaps and stamps!!!!
Gina, I was hoping I would get to the end of this thread and see you posting that your luggage was finally home safe and sound. Here's my amusing (now not then) story about lost luggage: When I was transfering from Rota Spain (gotta luv the military) I flew from Rota to Norfolk,VA with no problems. Since I had a school in route to my next duty station I had to fly home to drop off my son (7 yrs old) and my two fur babies (Tom the cat and Junior the dog). Now all of us have flown all over the world without anyone getting lost EXCEPT for the flight from Norfolk to Dallas. They airline LOST my fur babies!! How in the world can you lose a cat and dog?!? It took over three hours before my fur babies were found and we could start the 4-5 hour drive home. I know doesn't sound that long but after flying for 2 days and me worried about the animals not having any water in the heat, it seemed like forever until my old babies (they were both 3-5 years older than my son) were found.
Lots of {{{{{ h u g s }}}}} for you. I'm hoping a small miracle will happen and you'll find your lost bag.
Hey, I know what's happening to all the missing luggage...
The people that e-ray the luggage can see all the really cool swaps and stamps and they must be "losing" the luggage on purpose...
Yeah, that's it!!!
;)
Don't think I havent already thought of that! I figured the luggage was pulled for security checking due to whatever embellishments were used on the swap cards (metals, glitters) who knows... then when the bags were opened ...
I know its a way out there thought but at least Im not the only one who came up with it!
Ive been offered $200 to cover my loss ..can you imagine $200 bucks. It cost me $100 in supplies just to make my swaps, 6 stamp sets and a punch, 160 swaps cant even set a price on them, my convention market place art from the heart cd and key chain and shirt, 3 pairs of shoes. oh and did I mention it was a new piece of luggage I had recently bought! uugh I am just sick over it....
Im hoping to make my Q3 bonus so I can re-imburse myself for some of the stamp sets.
My hubby actually works at JFK in the tower and the big news not long ago was when the dog show was in town for MSG, they lost a whippet and apprently the dog was worth $20,000~ I guess I cant complain. They still havent found the dog! so chances of my stamps appearing are slim to none.
Thanks again everyone for all of your support and kind words. I really appreciate it!
Okay, I know money cannot replace what you have lost, but do you have any insurance that would cover your stuff when traveling? I would wait before accepting the money from the airline... what happens if you accept the money and then they find your bag?
I am really sorry about your losses and I hope they find your bag. If it is lost forever, whoever or whatever took it, will have some major bad luck coming to them in the future tenfold.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss... I have a few of my swaps that i didnt get swapped out (being on a walker and not able to stand for a long time made it hard to swap everything)... so I will send you one of each thing I have left.. I hope that will help you out some.
It could be that the luggage tags are ripped off and they dont know where you are to get them to you... and they may show up later.. one thing about your bags going through an international hub.. they could have made it to europe and will return at a later date..
I once had 1 bag that was lost.. my shoes were all sent to hawaii.... but i wasnt in them!

I'm also very sorry to hear of your ordeal. How awful! I didn't go to convention, but I have left overs from previous swaps that I have done. I will send those out to you so that they may ease the pain a little! :???:

Good news! I just got my suitcase, with all my stuff in it. I am willing to send you my backpack from this year's convention if you want it. Let me know. I am still hoping they find your bag and get it to you, though.

How long was your luggage lost before they located it? Is there still hope afterall? WOW!
I have to say I have been losing sleep over this and I know there are far more worse things to be stressed over but.
Wanted to send a quick thank you for yet another RAK I received _this one from Jan "mishkismom" That was very nice of you to send me such a pretty card (I actually have this set on my wish list As for telling hubby I need to place another order due to this mishap...ummm not happening! Convention was over $1000 and I cannot justify replacing these stamps just yet.
I hope I get lucky and the luggage appears when I least expect it. I sent an email to stampin up.. and my upline said she wil call them tomorrow and see what they say... so who knows,...
Will keep ya posted...Kimspringer you have given me hope once again! That was awefully nice of you to offer me your backpack but I could never accept that! Thank yu anyway!!!
Darn! I just read 115 posts completely convinced that you would get your luggage!! I still hope that you do!!! I can send you a RAK, tho I've never been to convention. Keep your chin up, girlfriend.
Lucky me, my luggage arrived 24 hours after it was "lost". There is hope. I am serious about the backpack. My DH said to send it to you - he says I collect much "junk". Please keep me informed - it'll make him happy!! BTW - we just celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary, so being married to a "junk collector" can't be all that bad!! LOL
Gina,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I am hoping it will show up. I didn't make it to convention but I would be so sad to lose all of the goodies. =( I will be checking back to see if you got your suitcase.
My fingers are crossed for you.
Here is where the nightmare comes in... For the journey home, I had:
* 3 plastic shoe boxes full of awesome swaps,
* my 6 BRANDY NEW AWESOME stamp sets from convention (I won with my bracelet a set + oval punch, the 4 registration sets + the heart set everyone received)
* all of my make and takes and tecnique class work in my craft keeper
* The awesome backpack!! water bottle, lanyard....
* 3 pairs of shoes and thats about it! You get the picture...
Oh, dear! You poor thing. I bet the person who has it now is either scratching their head (like my DH does) or is jumping up and down (because they are also a Demo!). I REALLY hope you get it back!!!
Good luck - sending hopeful thoughts your way.
Amy

Come on, more news please! I am expecting to see that it all turned up! Mega-years ago when I flew from Fairbanks to Denver for my wedding, one of my suitcases was lost...All I had was my wedding dress...no other clothes, no "stuff" for the reception, shoes, anything! I got it all back the day before, but I can commiserate with you 100%!
