Cause every few minutes I keep walking in the break room with a big styrofoam cup of "pink looking stuff" to heat in the microwave.
I am whipping up big batches of the homemade hand lotion, heating it up, so it will pour into small 2 oz bottle I ordered on the internet.
I have to have 200 done by July 8th. Bottles filled, and embellished.
I just peeked at a bottle that has cooled for a couple of hours, it's back to fluffy. I have mixed up all the potion I can for today. Stop by Dollar Tree, see what they got, maybe hit a $ store, see if I can save this girl a few bucks.
She wants 100 of the bottles embellished with some ribbon, I am thinking of tearing some fabric into strips, kind of a shabby chic effect.
15 oz vaseline petroleum jelly
16 oz vitamin e cream
2 16 oz baby lotion
mix together, use glass or metal mxing bowl, and spoons, plastic can absorb the fragrance, taste like lotion.
I mix it up, keep in large sealable jar, scoop out in small jars for my bathroom, or keep small 2 oz bottles I can fix to give as gifts. All my friends love it.
Wow sounds great to me and you are so sweet to get it done....tell those watching...there might be a little gift for them too...that will get ya smiles.
That is great that you can do it at work. I wouldn't be able to. That lotion is the best. Everyone I give it to loves it! I usually make a big batch at Christmas time to give as gifts!
I buy all of my items at Dollar General, here is a picture of what the bottles/jars look like. Shown is what would make a half batch, two of each would make a full batch.
I don't add a scent, the baby lotion gives it a nice fragrance.
I ordered the bottles from an online site Abundant Health, 216 2 oz bottles, with lids was about 70.00.
I am heating cups of the lotion up becuase it will thin down in the heating, and pour easily into the bottles. I does go back to original thick, fluffy state when cooled.
All righty now, gotta get cracking. I am the x-ray technician in a Level 1V Emergency Room, so inbetween patients, or crisis, I can do my own thing. Cusy gig, but it took my 35 yrs to get here.
I have heard of this lotion but haven't tried it yet! I didn't know it was so easy to make! I am a nail tech and this would be perfect to give some of my clients for gifts! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

i dont know how much trouble you want to go through, but i have made quick decorations like you are talking about. tie twine around the bottle, then string a bead on the end, then a knot. you do that at both ends, really cute.
but it is more time and expense, so I dont know if you want to get that elaborate.
can you add a scent? If so what do you use for that?
where do you get vitamin e creme?
I substitute some scented lotion for the baby lotion (I actually use a regular enriched hand lotion and not the baby lotion at all) - I usually just add a small jar that I get at walmart or the dollar store for different scents. Love this stuff!
have you thought about using an electric warming plate? that's what i use when i'm making chocolates and it works great! had to get it on ebay. it looks like it's straight out of the 80's
i just put all the stuff in my kitchen aid. set to mix. and go do other things.
whips up great. you don't have to watch. or worry about the time. more time works great.
i pick up the ingredients at dollar stores, family dollar, big lots whenever i see them/need them. always have some on hand.
as others have said i love this stuff. as does those i haven't gifted it to
Instead of heating and pouring, could you scoop the mixture into a large ziplock bag, snip off the corner and squeeze the lotion into the bottles? It would be kind of like using a pastry bag.
Since I love the smell of Johnson's baby lotion, is this dollar store one as nice and soft smelling? There is something about their lotion that just puts me in a mellow mood. Using the other hand lotions might be nice for different scents, also. Lots of choices. How about a little baby oil? Will it be too runny? I sometimes need the oil for really dry skin.
Thanks....
