Question Close to my Heart question

I have been a SU user for years but have recently been looking at the CTMH products, lots of stamp set I like and price point is lower which is appealing

My question is regarding dies and punches. SU has a variety of both for many of their sets and that is a convenience I like. I see CTMH has various Cricut cartridges and I am puzzled how that works. I know the basic concept of a cricut, I have one I rarely use...

How does one make that work in this setting? I see a cartridge that appears to offer one or two different shapes, for around 8$. Do I cut out my shape in the required size and then try to stamp the image on it straight and centered?

If someone would be so kind as to enlighten me I would be much obliged

I think you are looking at a stamp set with coordinating shapes for $8. I think the cartridges only come in collections for around $100US.

Close To My Heart

Many of the regular stamp sets have shapes that are on one of the cartridges. On those stamp sets is the name of the coordinating cartridge (I think) but also a notation of the measurement for the size to cut the coordinating shape. (Although I never seem to be able to do it right, my shapes never cut big enough.)

So you would cut then stamp.

Okay, I begin to see. Any given stamp set that has a coordinating cut out shape names the cartridge and it has many, many shapes. There seem to be 3 or 4 cartridges in total. I would choose one or 2 cartridges that meet my needs, and size and cut as needed. Then I would stamp.

Now I think I understand thank you for your help!

You are correct.

I have 2 of the CTMH cartridges and I love using them with the coordinating stamps. It has increased my use of my cricut and stamps on my scrapbooking pages.

Because their stamps are see through, it isn't too hard to get the stamp aligned on the cut shape. A problem I have when using a rubber stamp and a die or punch.

Now, it is so much easier to just grab a punch or die and cut out a shape, but then you only get one size and sometimes I like to have various sizes to highlight my main focal point.

So there are definitely pros and cons for the various cutting systems. Therefore, I just support all of them!

There is a new cartridge coming out this year with new catalog. It's called Artistry. Earlier cartidges are Artbooking, Artiste and Art Philosophy.

The new cartridge has 700 images.
