I think of most of my cards as being CAS. They take a lot of time because everything has to be just "so"...so maybe they aren't really "simple" but that's what I'm trying to bring across! LOL. I tend to use fewer layers and limited embellishments (most often mini brads). You can check out my gallery or my blog.
If I have to say the "queen of clean and simple" it'd be SweetMissDaisy. I love her stuff!
I, personally, am all over the stamping map. I do clean and simple and I also love to challenge myself to do at least 5 layers and 5 embellishments. It's fun! I would say that naturally I am more a simple stamper though. Lots of the designers and blogs mentioned here are already my favs. I'll be watching this thread to see who else y'all love.

Subscribing...love clean designs...letting the stamps "shine".
Not that I don't admire all the creations with many layers/embellishments, etc...but when I try to do cards in that style, they end up looking horrid.
I am definitely a simple girl. I think I couldn't make my cards any other way. I love to look at all the blogs and also like to look at more busy cards, but somehow I can't make them myself, because then I don't like them. I can enjoy busy cards, but I think simple cards are the best!
ok, I am definitely one who makes simple cards... veeery simple *LOL*. i call them my white cards . This thread is so nice as it is great to see that there are so many who like simple cards. When posting cards in the gallery, the more layered cards seem to get the most comments and I was already wondering that doesn't anyone appreciate the simpler creations, which are still hard to work to make.

Please, stop by my BLOG and say hello! *smile*. I Love little bird/chick stamps.

I've seen this, too, but my gallery defies this trend. My gallery isn't a "popular" one with high comment counts (I rarely do challenges, don't upload regularly, and know how many cards get uploaded daily--it's a miracle my cards get any comments at all!). But every card that has over, say, 15 comments (all three of them, LOL!) are OLCs that are very clean and simple. My highest comment card has over thirty and it was super easy and one layer, too. It didn't even have any ribbon on it!
Sometimes I wonder if the OLCs and CAS cards are not a breath of fresh air for gallery viewers after looking at so many multi-layer, heavily embellished works of art that look so intimidating and take so much time, effort, and "stuff" to create. Clean and simple cards look do-able (even though they are often HARD to pull off!), easy to CASE, and different, so occasionally they attract some attention just for that.
I love all the variety in the gallery and find even really "over the top" embellished cards can inspire me to do something in my own style, which is definitely CAS.
Great thread! I love layered and embellished cards but would only make one for a VERY special person. Too much effort for me. As I always need multiples the simpler cards are all I can try. Sure appreciate all the gallery listings.
I have a category at my blog where I have single-layer cards posted. I'm more of a simple stamper myself, even though I do layers...they are much more simplistic.
I think having a special code for single layer cards here, is a great idea!
Great idea, Krystie. However, I am quite uncreative when it comes to words, so here are my ideas for a keyword:
CAS (clean and simple)
ML (minimal layers)
I strive to make clean and simple cards cause lots of layers, fancy corners, and all that jazz are just not my style (I appreciate them but I can't make them). My rule of thumb is if it takes more than 25 minutes to make, it's got too much stuff and I need to scale back.
I have developed a defined "style" that I worry I won't be able to break out of but for now I am happy and seek inspration from others who strive for Clean and Simple. I think a code for this in the gallery is a fantastic idea! Thanks for starting this great thread.

Simple cards can indeed be just as challenging to execute as the more intricate ones--sometimes even more so, because the focus and message of the design must be all the more impactful. ;)
I can't deny that there appears in the gallery to be a stronger appreciation for the more intricate designs . . .
As far as comments go, I'm just guessing, but when it comes to thumbnails, even if the image/photography is fuzzy, the images that will entice a viewer to actually click for a closer look send out more colorful signals to the eye; in many cases that would be the more intricate cards, as opposed to the simple cards, which often feature more white space.
Color attracts; it's a natural tendency.
In either event, that makes no never mind, as long as you love what you are creating, and the people you create them for appreciate them, too.

I'm going to start using the suggested CAS for future uploads and go modify my current items I think fit the bill...Everyone agree CAS is our new key word for this?

I was gone all weekend, I'm looking forward to going back through the blogs and galleries mentioned on this thread so far. Thanks for all the great responses!
With an exception here or there I like to think of my self as a simple girl!! I have alot of patterned paper but tend to get a creative block when I try to use it!!! Therefore alot of my bg's are stamped...allowing for a more cohesive look....but that's just my opinion!
A codeword sounds like a good idea...
I just found this thread and haven't read through all of it, but when I saw it, I automatically thought of you. I was going to mention you if you hadn't been mentioned yet!!! You are one of my FAVORITE Clean and Simple stampers. I too love to look at the card that are so elaborate, and think "if only", but in the end, I love the clean and simple look!!! And I totally agree with Carolyn(Cammie), sometimes the simplest cards take the most effort. I would like to consider my self a CAS stamper, most of the time. Thanks for this thread though, I am so happy to see some great examples and learn of some great galleries to go visit!! I also totally agree with the others, a keyword would be fabulous and CAS sounds good to me!!
subscribing - I love the clean and simple look! But for some reason can't get it to work for me lol I can't seem to get enough on my cards haha
I saw this thread and I just had to add my friend Joslyn's blog to this...she has always done clean and simple cards and they are just *gorgeous* ...I love her style. Definately a less-is-more kind of gal.
Her blog is here...(I know she'd never post it herself so I'll do it for her!)

We're not saying "no" to any layers or embellishments, correct? Just keeping it simple will make it eligible for CAS status, eh? Nothing fru-fru or thick enough to use for leveling the dining room table.

Wow, this thread has sent me to all sorts of blogs and galleries that I'd never seen before, so thanks for all the links and inspiration everyone! Have subscribed.
I do 'simple' a lot of the time, so please take a peek at my gallery. (I wouldn't usually blow my own trumpet like this, but am feeling particularly fragile and unloved at the moment so could do with a boost! My MIL and SIL are visiting from a far away country for 5 weeks, and I'm already retreating to my little stamping world for some peace and quiet, and they've only been here 5 days! LOL)
Aye to the CAS code too.
Tilly

thanks tricia for the shout out. i am definitely a clean and simple gal. i have tried in the past to make a card that isn't and it just doesn't work. i am glad to find this thread with links to other CAS gals i will be checking them out.
I am really enjoying seeing lots of CAS cards! Thanks so much for all who have posted some of these sights/blogs/galleries. I have gone through every stage of stamping but am now in a super CAS spirit with about 80% off all my cards. It has been inspiring to see lots of others. THANKS SO MUCH!
I LOVE simple and clean design! Single layer cards are my faves... I struggle to do the multi layers with all the patterns and stuff. I love the look but can't execute it.
Great thread! Lots of cool blogs in galleries for me to cruise! Yay!
what a great thread--lots of awesome links! i definitely consider myself a clean and simple stamper, too. a gallery keyword code is a great idea--i'm working on uploading more often!
Great thread. I am always drawn to the very intricate cards on blogs, but I always seem to make the CAS cards. I therefore try the simpler sketch challenge layouts more often. Thanks for the great links.
Love browsing everyone's blogs and galleries. I think I tend to do both depending upon my mood.
BTW, how do you subscribe to someone's gallery to see when they upload new things? I tried and instead it subscribed me to the main gallery and I was getting emails for every thing ever uploaded. Thanks!
