I used to go there regularly but have not been there in a few years. Instead, because their classes fill quickly and seem expensive, I've been teaching classes not far from the convention center during the same time frame as an alternative for those who cannot get into their classes or who aren't interested in paying the higher prices. Started because someone called me from my SU website and asked me to create a few classes for her and her friends when they got shut out of all the classes these wanted to take.
i have to agree with the prices--we signed up six months ago at least and some classes were closed. they did open a new copic class though and added us on. hopefully it will be fun! i suppose it's what you make it! if we go again, maybe i will have to look you up stamping goddess! thanks for the input!
YES! and I need one more Preview Party ticket for a friend, if anyone has an extra or finds out they can't go. [email protected]
You will love it -- I've been several times. Take cash, dress comfortably, take CAMERA to capture ideas (ask vendor first), and prepare to be overwhelmed!
fizzy--are there swaps? are you dressing with the theme flower power for the preview party? we were wondering if the preview party is much different from saturday's convention? we do have tickets to both the preview and the convention. hope you get your extra ticket!

It's like Stampin' Heaven!!! Just imagine going to 45 stamp stores in 1 day - that's what it's like. Was very overwhelmed the 1st time I went - just soooo much to see. Now I usually go to the Stampaway website & get a list of vendors, then check out their websites to that I have some idea of what I'm looking for when I get there. If not I can hardly make up my mind in any given booth. Two if my sisters & various stampin' friends go every year & consider it one of our MUST DO "Stampin' Road Trips". One sister asked me, on her 1st trip to Stampaway, how much money she should take & I just flat-out told her "Whatever you take, it's not enough! You're gonna want everything you see!" It's FABULOUS!!!! Besides comfy shoes, take a good size tote bag. It's too much trouble to shop trying to juggle 5, 6 or 20 bags of purchases. With a large tote bag you can just drop each purchase inside and still have hands free to inspect what you want to buy next. Hope to see you there - I'll be the short redhead, with the dazed look, who can't decide where to look next!
Borucks - the Preview Party is nice because it is several hours of shopping with a much smaller crowd of shoppers. No long lines & waits. It's the best time to get what you really want -- especially new & hot items. I don't dress up -- in fact I rarely eat although they do provide food. I use that time for serious shopping & getting into the booths that will be too crowded to get near on Saturday. You'll love it!!!!
I wanna go! :( I lived in Cincinnati for five years and loved going to Stampaway every year. Too far for me to go now. The preview party is worth the extra money. It's much less crowded for shopping, which makes it easier to see everything and gives you more elbow room. To everyone who's going - have a great time!
