The actual price is $487.99. I was going to order it at that cheap price but I feel like I am ripping them off and I want to continue to get those great deals from them! I really don't think you all will get them for that price, the internet does weird errors sometime and it is probably in their fine print somewhere about them. But if you do good for you!
I hope that they do let us know before charging it, or else they will be receiving the item right back!
I don't feel that it is my fault in any way to purchase something if a mistake was made. I used to be a buyer for a department store and if you made a mistake in your pricing, it was the buyer's fault, not the customer for wanting it at that price!!!
Since I am a SAHM, I have to be thrifty and look for sales, so I don't see this any different than buying merchandise at a huge discount at the stores.

Price has changed
I was in the process of ordering and when I submitted, the price changed to $487.99...... whaaaaaa... I'm sure it would've been caught when the warehouse suddenly was shipping all these orders. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Ok I guess when you think about it does sound too good to be correct but I've also bought stuff before that sounded too good to be true. (A Guess jumpsuit that was originally $100.00 for $10.00). But some of you made me feel really guilty (and what you said was right)so I called them to see what was going on. She's going to call me back and I will post their reply.
I did call Viking also, and they said they WILL bill out the difference, and that there is a pricing clause in the online site about erroneous prices. Too good to be true, yes, i think so, but i agree that those that still have orders that they either honor that price or quickly refund your money. Good luck!!
well i just called b/c i sure didn't want my credit card charging me a fee for going over my limit!
the person said they can't charge you more without getting consent first. but yes, the price was wrong, and they would have called. so i went ahead and cancelled :-(
"We have the right to refuse or cancel any order due to typographical or photographic errors. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order has been canceled, Viking shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price."
This is straight from Viking's website, so if they want to cancel the order at that price then they have the right to. However they cannot just charge the difference for the correct amount.
I sent an e-mail to cancel my order. My order also says "special order". I sure don't want to be charged the $400+!
Yes, we all knew it wasn't the correct price, but having worked in retail I know that the price that the sign above the merchandise is what they have to honor (whether it's correct or not). I'm not upset that they won't honor it, but it was worth a try!

Ladies,
Please allow me to play devil's advocate for just one moment. It obviously is a typo and we should not try and take advantage of that. Imagine for half a second that you were a business owner and you made a mistake on your website or advertising, and everyone wanted to take advantage of that. We all make mistakes, we should not be trying to "get over" on Viking because there was a glitch. Do the right thing!!!!
Please dont hate me, but honesty is better! You would want someone to do the right thing if it was your mistake as well.

You guys are so lucky, I missed it. I just tried and it's $487. or something like that. I don't know what I would've done w/it, but for that price, I know it'll go to good use!
I'm stunned at the dishonesty and disappointed too. Basically if you know it's a mistake, and it's obvious it was, than you should do the right thing and point it out. It's basically stealing when you take advantage of a company like that. And viking is our friend too, we get such excellent prices on all kinds of stuff. Imagine if their business took a big hit and then it was reflected in the bottom line...what we pay. Rest assured if they don't make money and instead lose money, it comes back to bite us in the butt later.
Stampin' Up just sent me my Sell-a-bration sets that I ordered and in the box were three extra sets of stamps. One was a hostess set and two were fairly expensive sets, All year Cheer I etc... I called them right away and told them. They said, thank you and told me to keep the level two hostess set for being honest and sent the rest back which I did.
If I posted on my SU website, Special! Many Marvelous Marker 100% off but meant 10% off, I would hope that my custoemrs didn't jump on that and make me follow through or I would be out of business in a hurry.
I believe what goes around comes around so whatever you do, think about whether or not you want it to come back around.

HUH? The dishonesty???????? You can be disappointed that so many jumped at this opportunity but no one was being dishonest.
I run two online stores. It does NOT take HOURS to change a price of a product. You can say it was an obvious "mistake" but let me tell you, not everything with HUGE price breaks are a huge mistake! At a local furniture store a friend picked up a $900 bunk bed for $25 and there were many more at that price. They just wanted to be rid of them. So if everyone sat back and didn't act on things that could possibly be accurate than many of the good deals would go elsewhere. Would you walk by a bin of Colorbox Inks that were marked 10cents each when every other store was selling them for $5 each? I think not!
Viking reserved the right to "take back" the sale and if that is what they choose to do then so be it but please, don't say people are being dishonest!
Viking could have removed that page of the website, updated the price sooner, had a statement right on their page that it was a price error that was in the process of being adjusted etc. etc etc. shortly after this price was called to their attention but they did not and that is their issue, not the fault of those that tried to get in on a deal!
I didn't go online to order it... but I did call when I saw this link. I asked tons of questions. Like....is this the right price? are you sure? why is it so low???? The lady was very helpful..... she told me it was the correct price and that she didn't see any problems. I was in shock!!! Now.... I consider myself a pretty honest person...... thats why I asked tons of questions. I ordered it. If I get an call telling me it was a typo.... i will totally understand. I am not out to take advantage of anyone. However, I have run into companies that do this..... they take a loss on a product to write it off and get a tax break. It is totally possible that this company did this for a short time. Like I said...... I asked a TON of questions to clarify. I even had the lady double check with someone. I told her to please have them let me know if there was a problem with the price.
we will see.
I think whe need to be carful about pointing fingers at people in this situation.
I do not see what you all are ordering at $3.69 or $3.99. I see a computer corner desk at $487.99. Is that it? never mind- I see now that it was that desk. WOW!!!!! Lucky girls.
I'm not sure what you're all looking at, but when I hit the link it brought up a corner maple work station and sells for 487.99. But if this is what you're all getting for 3.99 order me old too. It is a steal, LOL

Ladies, When I went to the Viking site to check out your "steal" the price shows as $487.99. Apparently someone caught the error. I hope you ladies actually get your desk at the "steal" price!
I have been meaning to order some mono for some time so I did today. I added the desk, just to see if it was a real deal or not. When I checked my account this evening it said it shipped but then there was a credit for the desk. I should be getting my other goodies tomorrow so I am still happy!
You know what......if the price had still been the 3.69 when I checked it, I would have jumped on it. As said before - sometimes companies do sell things at a discounted rate. I bought a computer desk at STAPLES, in the store, for $9 and some change. It was a great desk. But they weren't selling them anymore and wanted to get rid of them. It was the last one. I too checked and rechecked when I checked out "Are you sure it's this price?" Now, honestly, I bought it because it was a steal. I had no use for it and I still don't. I hope to stick it in my DS's room when he is old enough.
I don't think trying to get the Viking desk was dishonest in any way. I do understand those of you who thinks it is, but please don't put your convictions onto others. Viking has the right, and probably will because of their disclaimer, cancel the orders. I don't think they have the right in any way to charge anyone for it. I don't see how they can charge any of you for their mistake. They may not have to honor it, but say they shipped it out... they should have to eat the return shipping to cover their own mistakes.
I have filled out a customers order form before and make a mistake in their favor. I did NOT go back and charge them the extra. It was my mistake and I ate it.
If the newspaper misprinted my add to sell my 5000 car for 500 it wouldn't matter. I would simply tell them the paper made a typo. Just because I list something for sale, doesn't mean I am OBLIGATED to sell it.

Update -- I got a $4 invoice yesterday, and it says the desk will arrive 1/28. website says the same...I did cancel the order, too!
OK..So how many people are going to actually receive the desk for les than $4? I lelieve it was Lisa Lisa that said she called and they would honor the price! I can't say that I think it's dishonest. It may be a misprint, but that's not the consumer's probloem, is it? I do understand the cancelled orders, but I'm thrilled for anybody that actually gets a desk for $4! WOW! hey, I'll give you $100 for it!
They sent a credit to my credit card for the purchase of the desk right away. I also purchased some mono and other stuff at the same time and the payment for that just went through my credit card yesterday. Do they always wait this long to put the payment through? This was my first Viking order.
What was the $4 invoice for? I didn't try it but I wondered what happened to those who got it. My hope was that no one was charged and that at least someone ended up getting one at that price.
