Hello Stampers
I am helping with a Children's christmas party
Does anyone have tips on CD ornaments?
I have a bunch of old CDs and thought this would be a cute idea for the kids
Thanks
Hello! I made cd ornaments last year and it was fun. I used spray adhesive to stick the paper to the CD. I also used ribbon that was hot glued to the back of the CD to make the holder. I'm not sure if it's a good project for little ones due to the spray adhesive or hot glue. ?? That's up to you. I think an awesome idea for kids would be handmade ornaments. You can use salt dough, super easy and cheap to make. They will just need to be baked to harden. You can use cookie cutters and bake them at home and bring for the kids to paint themselves. Just an idea!

My son made one for us when he was in 2nd grade (??? I think) and they took a picture of him cut it into a small circle put that on top of a larger green circle that they adhered to the CD then they cut out a holly and adhered that on there. On the back side is just green with ribbon under it to hang from the tree. It is a cute project for kids.
With my class, grade 4. we bought a pile of cheap CDs. Hot glued their picture in the center ( love those extra photos). Glued trim: pipe cleaners, beaded stuff or old small garland. Had them write a message, name, date on the front around the photo in permanent marker, attached a hanging loop and tada. It was really quick and sparkly with the disc showing. Sorry no stamping put you could add some. Many of the other teachers had to 'borrow' this idea, so can you!
Happy Holidays

At my old job we had craft night every year in Dec. One of the ladies made ornaments out of the AOL Cd's by using those transfer rub-ons. She would buy them after Christmas and then make ornaments out of them. She would paint the back side so it was a solid color and rub on the silver side.
if you have the creative memories cutting system, one of the circles cuts paper the perfect size to cover a cd, I can't remember which circle it was though. I have made several of these and everytime someone sees mine they want one too! So cute!

What a great idea. Now if only I can get DH to part with some of his old scratched up CD's...or I will have to get a pack of blank ones, either way, I gotta try this...and I have the Creative Memories Cutting System...thanks for the tip!!! TThe one size is exactly perfect for a cd!!! You guys are wonderful!
