Happy Holidays
How about faux cloisonne? Take colorful shiny paper, such as catalog pages or wrapping paper. Stamp line-drawn images in Versamark, then emboss in gold (or copper or silver). Cut out images and use them in your creations. Here are some from the gallery:
When I take my grandsons to McDonalds, Kids Depot, I usually take a small project to work on. So my old catalogs come in handy. I can open them up, have a clean area to stamp or glue on, if a page gets messy, just turn a the page. And I don't leave a mess either.
A woman in a craft group that I'm in suggested using the Nordstrom catalog pages since they are a little sturdier for papercraft projects. I used some of the pages to make the SU punch purses to use on cards. I have also used some catalog pages to punch out vases for flowers to use on cards. Another lady in our group, cuts squares and does origami objects for card.
I used an envelope that I got from Southwest Airlines-it was bright yellow with darker yellow polka dots-to paper piece a dress using a MFT stamp on a birthday card for a friend.
Wow - great ideas - keep the ideas coming if anyone has any other I have 3 feet of catalogs and they keep coming - very helpful ideas!!! Love the link Chris.
You may want to check with a local school or teacher. We use magazines and catalogs to cut out pictures, letters, etc.
You can also use pages to make custom envelopes for your cards! Put the address on a sticky label and mail away! Much more exciting to receive than a plain ol' white one!

I do this too. It's really handy when I'm applying modge podge to stuff.
