Hi Everyone - at convention they were mentioning the different magazines we would see SU ad's. They had a copy of cards magazine there - but I have never seen it in the stores. It was very thick and had beautiful pictures of all kinds of cards. Has anyone seen this magazine and can tell me where I can get a copy. Borders didn't have it. Thanks!!
I sbscribed to this magazine when it first came out and was very disappointed in it. I did not renew my subscription because there was never any stamping shown in that magazine. They are really big on what Julie HRR calls "scrappy cards" no stamping or very little stamping.

If you will go to the website (link above) you will see that you can purchase one copy of the magazine. Granted it is pricey (19.95 for one issue) but frankly I doubt it would be cheaper in a store and that is if you can find it. I was never able to find the magazine in my area and I searched Borders, Banrnes and Nobel, Joanne's, AC Moore, Michaels, and Archivers! None of them were carrying the magazine when I looked for it. They might be carrying it now but I am not looking for it anymore.

I got mine at Michael's with a 40% off coupon. It is the current issue that has the SU stuff on the cover, so you may need to hurry before it becomes a "back issue"! I know my local scrap stores all carry it, too.
It is an awesome magazine, actually it is more like book quality. It is from the publishers of Scrapbook Trends. I used to get mine from Michael's with a 40% of coupon. It normally costs $19.99 but $12.00 after the discount. If you can affrod to shell out the money upfront for a 1 year or 2 year subscription, then the price goes down to around $7 an issue, I think. That is what I did and I have no regrets. It is so worth it...IMO
I saw a picture and was wondering if it was maybe an S.U. publication being released. I will have to see if I can find one in the craft store to see if it is worth subscribing, as it is a little pricey. Thanks for posting and solving my little mystery.
I purchased one from an eBay seller for about $7 plus shipping. The photography was nice but if I remember correctly, there's no techniques classes or any type of articles. I was kind of disappointed and have not looked for any other issues.

I've been published in Cards and I used all SU supplies!! I love their magazine, but could never afford to suscribe to it. I love that each page is a single card, it's a larger picture and I love the way they light the cards. I am also happy to see more cards than ads!
Thanks everyone - I was able to find a Michael's in my area that carried it. But I had to call around to find one. I used my coupon and I really like it - there is alot of SU ideas in it.
oh, almost forgot about that...guess I'd better get my butt over to the M store and check it out. Wonder if there was a coupon in Sunday's paper??? Jan
My Archiver's carries it as well as our LSS. I subscribed to it online because even though a lot of the cards are non-SU!, you can still get tons of ideas that you can adapt with your stamps. This magazine is really more of idea book. It's big and it's layed out beautifully! Some of our very own SCS'ers have been published in it! I love it!
Archivers always has it. It's beautiful, but I've found that the cards are much more "scrappy" than "stampy" (someone else drew that distinction related to something else on another thread.) That is, they use a lot of patterned paper, embellishments and rub-ons for images and sentiments, as opposed to stamps. So it will be nice to see SU's influence.
I actually purchased my very first copy a few years back from a local scrapbook store and then I found it at Michael's. You can use your 40% off coupon (Yipee!) since it is $19.95 originally. I have just subscribed to it so I can get it delivered to my door.
On that page, click on products. On the left sidebar, there is a link for specials. You can subscribe to one of the mags for two years and get a second of their publications for free...there are many choices otherwise I would list them! I subscribed to Paper trends a couple of issues ago and have been very happy. But, I have an addiction to idea mags. I buy them all, mostly, so take that into consideration! I think that their card choices are excellent!

it's only sold in "traditional" scrapping stores, there are no craft or book stores that I have seen in 3 years that carry it. It is published by paper trends so if you find one of those check inside for a subscription card it is 50.00 for 6 issues and well worth every penny they sell for about 15.00 each in the scrap stores. Okay, so do I pick Paper Trends or Scrapbook Trends as my freebie?????? Ugh the decisions!!! BTW, the one year w/ the freebie is less than the offer that SU was advertising for just getting CARDS when I was at Convention - glad I haven't subscribed yet!!!!
oh man! I keep forgetting to check for a coupon in last w/e's paper and swing by the M store...just in case! Our Hobby Lobby does carry some great magazines as well and I believe that I have seen Cards in their display before but it might have been "Just Cards"....at first I was thinking that it was CardMaker and I had subbed to that once and been rather disappointed in it when I got a "last chance" renewal notice and almost sent it in thinking it was Cards mag. Thank goodness for SCS....I happened to see a thread about it BEFORE I renewed the other mag! ;-) Jan
I broke down and bought one from the LSS in June. I paid $24.95 CAD for it, although I like the fact that it has little advertising (probably accounts for the higher price). I would have to agree that there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of stamping in it, but the layout ideas behind the cards are fabulous and there's at least 150 samples in each issue. I think it's one of the best ones I've seen.
I still have quite a few cards flagged for inspiration in the June issue and the nice thing is that because I use mostly stamps in my cards, mine end up looking very little like the cards that inspired them. Makes me feel a little more creative - "how can I incorporate stamps into this???"
I have a 6-issue subscription coming my way. We'll see how it goes after that. I figure that even 6 issues will give me more than enough layouts to keep me busy for a while! Definitely worth the money!
Hmmmmm....I really like it a lot and wouldn't call it a magazine but more of a book also. I do the same as others have mentioned and only pick it up at Michaels with a 40% off coupon. I often see stampers from SCS with beautiful cards in there--like Kristina Werner (starofmay) and Julia Stainton. If you are looking for ideas for simple one layer style cards you may not like this but if you are looking for ideas to inspire you then it certainly does that for me!

Happily stampin' away the day!
I subscribe to this magazine and like it. I look at it for layout ideas more than actual products used. I could not afford to buy it by single issue, but if you subscribe it is somewhat affordable.
Go on ebay and purchase back issues before you subscribe. I bought all of last year's for the cost of one mag. Cute ideas, but I agree very little stamping. Besides cards there are paper trends, baby, tis the season, etc. Older ones of course are much cheaper. Not to name names, but 'ohmycrafts' is who had them on ebay. They also have other stuff for scrap and stampers. Search for cards and that will do it.

Ok, so I FINALLY made it to the M store today and lucky for me there was a coupon in the Sunday paper! Check out the publications and YES! it is there, not only Cards but also Paper Trends AND Scrapbook Trends so I was able to riffle thru them and that made my decision so very easy. PaperTrends all the way for my freebie as I will be subscribing to the mag.
Of course, I did pick up the Cards book-a-zine(much more than a mag, not quite a book) with my 40% off coupon and yep, it was about $12 so that was good. There were only 2 on the shelf so I didn't want to take any chances on that.
Now as for the papermart.com deal on the subscription, the PaperTrends mag is less expensive than Cards so I could sub to it for less and get a 2 year subscription (12 issues...they publish every other month, I believe) to that one with a one year subscription to Cards (meaning only 6 issues) or I could pay the higher price and sub to Cards for 2 years and get the one year free to Paper Trends. Hmmmm, which should I do???
Ok, so I have trouble making decisions but one decision that will be easy is to go ahead and subscribe...I just hate trying to figure out when a magazine comes out and then remember to get to M's with a coupon to get it before it is sold out.
Although I did notice that at Archiver's they had a special discounted section for past issues of various magazines which were a little cheaper....no, no! I am NOT going down that road! Jan
I have been a subscriber for a couple of years now and LOVE it. The photos are so clear and diplayed well. I love the fact that there are really no adds. Also like the size and that it feels like a book vs. a mag. It is true that they don't do much stamping but I find that I use it for inspiration and ideas of layouts etc. and then I incorporate my stamping with that. It is very easy to change their things that way. Since I am really into embelishments right now, I love to see how they use them and get great ideas for new uses.
It is pricey but it seems that it is the one publication that I keep out, save and look at over and over again. I also lend them out to friends and because of the high quality, they don't look shopworn!
