Default card sketch reference book??

What I really would like to do is.....

make a notebook with all the card sketches. I was thinking of doing them to fit inside of the baseball card protectors or putting them in groups on a page. Anyone done this and have a template or have any suggestions on how to do this. I don't want the pict to be very big just big enough to make a reference book for myself- if I don't have the computer beside me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is a great idea. So many times I need to make a card and come on here to get a sketch idea and all of sudden it is 2 hours later and too late to make the thing. Having a sketch book would be a great help for the quick "I need an idea now" thing that seems to be my life. I will be watching this thread as well.

I did this...I altered a blank journal and made it my "inspiration" journal with tabs for sketches/layouts, color combos...stuff like that.

I printed off the sketches from the sketch challenges here (I could get about 10 on a page...) and then I cut them all out and glued them in the book. Anytime I run across a sketch or layout that I like...I either sketch it in or print it and add it to the book.

This is one that I did for a friend.
Inspiration Journal

Since I didn't really do much more than print them... I don't have a template or anything.

You could also alter a binder - size of your choice and just print and add to your binder in the appropriate section.... I started one (didn't like the direction Modge Podge was taking my papers) - think I had planned sections for a perpetual calendar, to do list , page/card maps, challenges I wanted to do, supplies I wanted/needed to get - well you get the idea.

I have the sketches printed and in a stack on my workspace. I like the idea of the journal much better. Thanks for the idea.

I collect sketches in a file and print them off.

This thread has thumbnails of all the sketches from the Sketch Challenge in various formats:
Forums at Splitcoaststampers

The Mojo Monday blog also has a file of her sketches that I like.

thanks rubbernecker that is the kind I am looking for, I don't necessarily want the samples so I am going to see about condensing it down. thanks so much. I will definately use this.

okay, if anyone else is going to copy these off the site- don't do what I did. I went into them and deleted all the samples later to find out that if you scroll a little more down the page they have the sketches without the samples- so much easier!!!

Oh, looks like I am too late to warn you! I too did this the very first time I printed them...

glad you were finally able to get printed the sketches and not the samples.

I print all mine off and put them in a notebook in sheet protectors. Sometimes I will print the sketch and a sample on the same sheet. One day, I will organize my binder into categories.

Thanks for starting this thread! I just printed off the sketch challenges, and since I didn't know this could be done, I'm thrilled. SCS just gets more amazing!

Hi!
I don't sketch designs, but I have 2 binders that have samples of ideas from magazines or computer print outs. When I need inspiration I flip through these binders. Yes, I took pages out of Rubber Stamp magazines, I kept the designs I like, would like to copy, or of actual stamps I have. Then I can look through these binders and I always get re-energized for stamping.

I know you're not supposed to take apart stamp magazines, but storage was an issue so I kept what I needed and recycled the rest.

I have them all printed out and put into sheet protectors in a binder, along with project instructions, and card maps from here: http://pagemaps.com/

I have all kinds of templates and things in there so I just carry it along with me everywhere I go.

I used to have all mine in a binder but hated how it wouldn't stay organized. I switched to printing just a little thumbnail size image and then pasting them onto index cards.
I keep them all in a little Sterilite flip-top box, sorted into size categories: A2, square, long, minis, and misc shapes.

I just printed out all of the sketch challenges and color combo challenges and put them in a three ring binder the other week. I don't really have mine categorized or anything. I just have them stuck in there and then I flip through them for ideas!

I started out with a mini composition book and printed the sketches each week....they printed out the perfect size for the page. Then I filled thatand moved to a small size 3 ring binder....made up nice pages and everything for it...then decided that I hated it. It had little pockets for loose sketches and things too!

Now I am at a loss as to what to use. I like the altered things I am seeing though!

You all inspired me. Yesterday I printed off all the pages and put them in a loose leaf binder. Today I found myself actually USING it. I do wish you could buy a chip board binder that could be altered. A notebook is so boring.

Default card sketches

Ok--I admit, I like to have them easy to use..
I printed off 1-150something from SCS and have them in order, in sleeve protectors and from the 150 something + I have printed them out each week and added to the notebook....Then when folks suggest sites for others or I find them on my own(rarely), I go in and print them off, add a divider to separate the sites and go---- I use a sticky note to keep track of where I am---YES I admit it--I do them in order...see my signature here----I just can't bring myself to jump around---mostly cuz the brain won't remember if I have done it or not. And since its my notebook, my record keeping,,,,,,,,,I can do it MY way. I do jump around from site to site...work one site"s for a while and then another.....As they all have a style.

I also printed them out and put them in page protectors. I am looking to alter the book someway. As to how to keep organized, I am only putting the card sketches in one 3-ring binder and the scrapbook sketches in another, and boxes, patterns, ect in another. I can't have too many things together or I get too side tracked. You guys ideas are great, I am very excited about doing this. Keep the ideas coming.

I have all of the sketches printed and in order (1-171) then I put them in a clamp binder from Staples. This way I can flip through them easily and pull one out when I need it. This is easy and fast to access and replace.

I printed mine from the word document. There is a sample plus the sketch. It helps me to visualize the sketch challenge better. The way it is set up there are 4 on a page and I have them in a regular notebook. I wait and add to my book every few weeks. You can just print what pages you need.

I printed out the lists (sketch and photo) and then cut them apart. I bought several cheap little photo albums at Target ($1.99). They are just the right size. I am slowly working my way through the list -- not necessarily in order. When I make a card I'm sending to someone, I'll photocopy it; but normally I make just a card front and put the sketch on one side of a two-page spread and my card front on the other side. I must say I'm working on album #7 or #8 right now -- but they're small and don't take up a whole lot of room.

Default Not printing.....

Thank you Rubbernecker for that link!!! I just downloaded the three documents. I will not print them. It's much easier for me to find things in my 'puter than in the piles of papers and notebooks and scraps and cards in my not so neat stamp room.
