Good Morning,
I am considering options for reducing the cards in my stash. Most of them are fairly feminine, so donating to Cards for Soldiers may not be the best choice. Does anyone have a list of organizations or suggestions about where one could donate extra cards? Thanks for your help.
The cards are sent to wives, daughters, mothers, sisters etc. by the soldiers, so the fact that they are feminine is fine. I have donated a lot of cards to the troops and have received a lot of Thank You's from them. I can't think of the names of the groups I've sent to, but if you look around the site, I am sure there are postings with the names of the organizations accepting the cards to forward to the troops.
From Our Hearts sends over all types of cards, and feminine cards are needed - consider that our servicemen and women have wives, girlfriends, sisters, mothers, etc. and need all types of cards.
Based on the feedback received, many more are needed!
From Our Hearts posts letters and e-mails of thanks received - check it out! http://www.fromourhearts.info
Over 50,000 cards have been mailed over in just a year since From Our Hearts was officially formed as a not for profit.
Don't forget there are LOTS of female Soldiers, sailors, airmen & Marines. My girlfriends that were deployed loved when I sent cards to them to send back home. Two of them are quite crafty and missed being able to create their own cards so it was a blessing.
It's nice of you to think of something charitable to do with your cards rather than just putting them on eBay.
