Default can u help adapt this to a different size

I saw this fabulous little box tutorial on Nichole Heady's blog

but it's made with an 8 1/2 square paper and I want to make one using 12 x 12 paper so it will be bigger...

I'm not a math whiz at all and I remember someone on here made patterns for all sizes of nugget boxes so i thought it might be able to be done with this cute box too!

please help me!

The only measurements I saw on the tutorial were to make the bottom. Make the bottom paper an 11 7/8 square instead of 12. It appear any square piece of paper to make the top and just cut the square 1/8 inch smaller to make the bottom.

HTH!

There are no measurements in Nicholes tutorial. Just draw lines diagonally from corner to corner. Then start folding. Then you cut along the folds.

And April is right. The bottom (box) is just a little bit smaller piece of paper than the lid and you follow the same directions.

My friend made a bunch of teensy boxes using this method and recycled Christmas cards. She then hung the little boxes on her tree.

I think the key to these is to be sure the paper you start with is a perfect square.

That's the way I see too. And... "(Always make your box bottom cardstock square about 1/8" smaller than the one used in creating your lid, depending on the thickness of the cardstock.)". So if you are using a 12x12 sheet for the top then the cut an 1/8" off the top or bottom and one side to make it 11 7/8" square.

Forgot to add... the 11 7/8" square would be used for the bottom of the box.:-D

this is working out perfectly - thank you to everyone for explaining it to me! They are adorable boxes and look so cute stacked like a 3 tier wedding cake!
I made one for my neighbors as a thank you for hosting a super fun High School Musical 2 party and filled it with chocolate kisses and tied it with a ribbon and tag! I'm starting on boxes for my daughters dance class for halloween! You guys are angels to explain this to me and not ***ONE*** person laughed!
