Default Best of Cluck - to separate or not to separate?

Hi girls

Do you separate your words from the stamps or not?

I did. I use an exacto knife if the words are close to the image.

I didn't seperate mine, if I don't want to use the wording, I just put tape over the words before I ink it, then take it off before I stamp.

It was a little extra work, but i did separate mine. I mounted on opposite sides of the block. So far it's been a good thing.

Hit enter too early. I did not separate mine because I have a terrible time re-orienting the words if I do. Just as easy to mask off the words if I do not want to use them.

I haven't separated the words from my stamps. My SU! demo did with the Very Punny (the animal one) SAB set. If I just want to use the words, I ink the words with a marker.

i did seperate mine. i like to use little stamps like that without the words for backgrounds.

i don't really know how to explain this but sometimes you get the 'shadow' of the rest of the stamp.

one of the first sets i got was 'a little love' and i wish i had seperated them.

good luck and happy stamping!

What a great tip! Why didn't I ever think of doing that? Thanks for sharing that one!

Michelle if you really don't like the way you mount something you can always put the stamp in the microwave for about 10 seconds or so. (be careful when they come out they are hot hot hot!) You then can peel the stamp from the block and retrim. Another option is to take a sharp exacto knife and go around the areas that you don't want any further. I totally hate those shadows especially for sets that I bought used and use these technques interchangeably depending on how much extra rubber is on the wood. hth
