Okay I'm ready to dive in and buy the ATG gun. Where are the best deals people have found for US purchases? I haven't found them in Ac Moore or Michaels so I guess the 40% off coupons are a no go! LOL

I exclusively use Tombo Power Bond. I buy it in Michael's whenever I have a 50% coupon. Have asked my ACMoore to start stocking it, but they refuse for some reason.
ZIP DRY is my favorite. It does NOT warp the cardstock or DSP at all!!! And it STICKS!
My other favorite is the AD-TECH tape runner. Sticky stuff!ANd it is so much cheaper!!
I gave up using Tombo tape runner several months ago and I do NOT regret it one bit. My cards eventually all fell apart.
love love love zip n dry and if I have to use a tape, I use SCORTAPE.. they even have 1/8" for ribbon!
I love my little green bottle of Tombow Mono Multi ( or whatever it is called) just a small dotted line around the edge, gives you a little wiggle room and bam it is stuck!!!

I have a question for you about Zip Dry. As an adhesive I loved it. But it was a pain in the *$$ to use. If I leave the pin out of the open for 10 seconds it dries shut!!! What do you do?

I must be one of the few still using a snail....all my stamping comrades also use this brand (we are in a rural area). I buy them at Wal-Mart...I believe it is AD-Tech brand. They have a blue case and are very permanent and the price is great. $3.00 for the snail with one glue runner and the refills are 2 glue runners for $2.25...one can't beat that price in this economy.

The ADTECH brand is great. It is the only snail brand I will use for a tape runner. It is cheap and it sticks. Mono snail that SU sells and the ones you can buy in the store - I hate them. Even after pressing hard to get them to stick the cards eventually fall apart over time. And they do get expensive.
I used to use the red Ducky tape, but was going through a roll a day it seemed, so I switched to the ATG 714, and haven't looked back. I get the refills from Tape Depot, and I think the refills are only $1.50 for 36 YDS! It's very cost effective, and when it's stuck, it's stuck for good.
When I have tiny areas to glue, I use Tombow Mono Multi or Scotch Quick Dry--whichever I have handy at the moment. I can't really tell a difference between the two, except you get more of the Scotch Quick Dry for less than the Tombow.
I use the red-liner tape from some online company I can't think of right now. I got 36 yds. for not much money, and love it for altered projects or things that will be handled a lot. It's great stuff!
Ditto the Scotch double-sided tape! I use it all the time for cards, I buy it at BJ's, I think it's $9.99 for 6 rolls. For small, odd shapes, I use my Xyron 150 (the X). If it's a box that needs extra strength, I use the red liner tape.
Its the only thing I have ever used that is like cement and can't be taken apart ever. I havecards that use other types of adhesive and I could just pull the layers apart and I don't ever want that to be the case when someone gets a card from me ;)
Oh and a bottle will last for like 100 cards, maybe more!
another vote for my ATG gun---I got it about a year ago and that is almost all that I use. I still have some mono-snail that I take to shoebox swaps and some mono-multi that I grab some times as well as Scor-pal tape when needed. Also, glue dots for the very small places. BUT---ATG is the best (well--one of the best ;) ;) ;) ) purchases I made for stamping! I highly recommend it to anyone....................
I use Tombo Mono permanent adhesive for just regular gluing but have discovered that the Kokuyo Tape 'n' Roller plus adhesive is great for multi layers. I haven't had any problems with the Kokuyo coming apart. GinaK mentioned it on one of her blog entries and gave it a try. The only problem is trying to find the refills for it. I ordered a box of refills off the Internet.
I recently bought the Kokoyo Tape 'n' Roller at my LSS. It is fabulous! It's larger than other tape runners, and fits very nicely in your hand. It is permanent, I mean really permanent! Once you put the pieces together, they will not come apart. I have since found these and the refills at A.C. Moore.
Woot woot!! My ATG gun just arrived! I ordered it on Sunday and it got here today - 4 days total!
It only took a couple of minutes to load (comes with instructions and a diagram) and I used it a bit - will take a little getting used to but me thinks I'm gonna LOVE it!

I use scotch brand double stick tape for nearly every thing. But glue dots for ribbon are always in reach...and dimensionals. Love love love my dimensionals!!

Amy,
You're going to love it! I bought mine last summer and have used it on almost every project I've done since the summer. Halloween treat bags, Christmas cards, Christmast gift bags, 2009 Calendars and now Valentine's day treat bags. It's by far the most cost effective product.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Yep!

Glad I could help, Amy!
When I first loaded mine, I didn't quite have the roll locked in properly, now I know to make sure it actually clicks into place on the front part!
I dont know what I was thinking when I was typing that response - tombow mono-multi. I cant find it anywhere! :( And the roller tape just does NOT work on my cards at all. Esp with the textured cardstock!
This is very interesting. Not sure if I have this right. Does the AdTech brand tape work better than the Tombo MonoAdhesive tape? Are the snail and the MonoAdhesive dispenses the same? Do both types of tape fit in both dispensers?
Can anyone help me with this. If a little piece of adhesive (don't know how to say this-a tiny sticky boogar-like) from the tape creeps around the edge of your card is there some type of eraser that would take it off? I have used my exacto knife to try to get it off but sometimes it still leaves a blemish on my card.
I just got into card making and scrapping. I wasn't sure what I'd need, so I bought a bit of everything as I didn't want to get started on something and not be able to put it together. Most stuff, including the Xyron 150, I haven't even tried yet, but I am completely in love with the Adtech tape runner from Wal-Mart. I use it for almost everything (except photos) and I only regret it when I've stuck something down wrong and have to try and pry it apart; next time I'll try that dental floss trick so I don't wreck my paper (I hope!) I have heard one person that was doing recipe cards and had problems with it sticking, but I suspect she was exceptionally frugal with it. I probably weigh in on the wasteful side, but nothing I've used it on hasn't stuck (unless you count the stuff I've pried apart at least once already and not added more to make up for the stuff that now has peeled off paper on it, hehe!)

Stampin' Up! sells the Tombow if you happen to be getting stuff from a Demo anyway.
I personally waaaay prefer the Scotch Tacky though (also available at those two stores) and also suggest checking out the Kokuyo http://www.eclecticpaperie.com/kokuyo.html - it's a tape runner that definitley sticks!
