Love Print Pattern too. I use Canvas more than anything else, because it can go with nearly any style.

I think canvas it the most versitile. I just purchased houndstooth and my next ones will be the diamonds (can't remember the name) then I think floral will be my next one. I am wanting more and more backgrounds with all the great designs on SCS! Just loving it all!

The musical score bg is lovely but retired. I love French script but if you are just buying one to start....Print pattern might be the way to go as you can get so many different styles with it. Looks great as shabby, masculine, juvenile, traditional, floral....the list goes on...

I vote for Print Pattern also, if you can only get one. You can stamp it in a lighter color and then put your music or French Script on top in a darker color. Very "in" in our little world.

I agree ALL of them are "needed". But the one I reach for and find the most versatile is Canvas.

All of them if it were me!
I have both print pattern and canvas and will have floral soon...
I think I have used canvas more - it is great for adding texture...

I would get Canvas and Print Pattern first.

But like it's been said, you *NEED* them all!

I have as many B/g stamps as I can lay my hands on apart from Cheesecloth(the one that looks like a scruffy bandage!!), all are so versatile! If you have to choose just one or two, then go with Canvas, good for masculine and feminine cards or just for changing white to another color when you've run out of certain colors of cardstock!! If you can afford two then go for a floral type one as well or one of the Birthday/Holiday ones. Enjoy using whatever you get!

I'd have to vote for canvas too! LOVE it. I recently got floral (thought it was really ugly in the catty, but SCS did it again ;) ) and print pattern is in the box that came today!

My favorite background is Canvas - I just got it last fall and don't know how I ever lived without it - it goes with just about anything, so it's a great investment.

I agree about SCS and Floral. In the catty, it's horrible. I would never have purchased it were it not for you crazy people here. Thanks a lot!!! ;)

Canvas is great for jazzing up a plain cardstock with a simple background that goes with lots of image styles. Print pattern is an image that is more noticable and has to be considered as a stronger design element. French Script is (IMHO) the strongest design element of the three, and goes well with romantic images. Why not go out and look at stamps using your favorite sets and see how these background stamps work?

Stamps can be like clothes - you either can build on what you have for lots of combinations, or sometimes you want something completely different!

If I could only get one, it would be "Canvas" followed closely by "Print Pattern" and "Floral". I tend to use "Canvas" the most!!!

I'd vote for Print Pattern, seen some GORGEOUS cards using PP and French Script together. I have Canvas, like it alot, but hard to get good, total coverage w/o a brayer IMO. I also love the look of the floral and that would be pretty with the french BG too.

I also agree with everyone else: You NEED them ALL! Once you start, you just can't stop! I have emilymomto3boys to thank for my addiction to BG's, she makes them all look AMAZING!!!
