Unfortunately, my waistline is about the only thing NOT suffering --- I haven't vacuumed in weeks, the laundy gets done when I'm on my last pair of undies, etc. - but I can't seem to avoid feeding my face no matter what creative binge I am on! Guess my next hobby needs to be something along the lines of Weight Watchers!
I've started having to put a time limit on myself in the evenings after work. I could go in my room and spend the rest of the night up until midnight playing in the meantime my dog is wondering where his dinner is! *lol* SO I have found a routine that works for us. I get home, feed Kip, water my flowers, play in my stamp room for a couple hours, usually till 8-9pm, then watch tv for an hour or so and go to bed. Only thing suffering is my eating. I can't remember last time I ate supper. I might grab a bowl of cereal.
Wow! Missing meals??? Now THAT'S dedication!
You've got me beat.
Apparently my 4-yr old ds is suffering a bit. He decided I wasn't getting to dinner fast enough tonight so he made himself dinner - toast with about an inch of peanut butter on it.
And holy cow, I just folded all the laundry that has piled up for the past two weeks. I take just enough time to wash and dry, but not fold. So I guess it is more than my garden that is suffering.
I suffer if I am NOT creating something. I'm happier when I do get around to cleaning, cooking, weeding, and feeding the gang after a happy, happy afternoon of stamping.
Budgeting time is not one of my strong points but it all gets done in the end... And if you buy your kids (and hubby) enough pairs of underwear laundry just isn't a priority anymore!! ;)

I'm glad to see I'm in good company LOL! I used to have a pretty clean house, had laundy updated, walked the dogs, read books, shopped at the mall, cooked interesting and varied meals for hubby and myself along with some baking and cook-ahead meals for the freezer like chili, casseroles etc.
Now...I order in or throw something quick on the BBQ with some deli salads, Lipton pkg noodles has become a household staple, my poor dogs are walking themselves up and down the stairs for exercise and there is always laundry piled up downstairs. Poor hubby has gotten used to it...its been five yrs since I started this crazy hobby and he's adapted. He now vacuums, dusts and does his own laundry LOL!
I keep wanting to get more organized but then I think of a LO or card to do, there's a new scrap mag to read, some cutting out of stamped images to do, organizing my scrap room which means moving around and fondling all my goodies, shopping for more goodies and a biggie is, of course, coming online to chat and check out the gallery. No wonder everything else suffers in my life...thats like a full time job LOL!
Well if this question was asked to my DH, he'd give you one heck of an answer
My husband would say a happy wife makes for a happy husband, and a very happy wife makes for a very happy husband. I'm much happier when I stamp than when I don't.
I'd also say I don't always take much notice of my hubby. I don't even know when he fitted this grey carpet to the windowsills and along the skirting boards!!
You ladies are too funny! I of course always take time to do my housework. Just give me a two week notice before you stop by to check on my claim!! ;)
I sold my vacuum for stamping stuff. I have fuzzy cats and the dirt attaches to them. Seems to work for me.
HA!!!!! Know just whatcha mean....here's one of my fluffy dirt magnets...busy in this pic using his fluff to my rug's disadvantage! His name is Bumper. If only I could teach HIM to do dishes and laundry! {Looks like he's really interested in that, eh!} ;)
Love this and am so happy there are others out there. All that stuff housework, laundry, cooking oh yeah they are out the window. But the one that has suffered the most this past couple of weeks is my mental health is gone gone gone. I am over the edge about the new catty. I am in hopes of recieving one today from my upline who I told her they were coming (tracking her box) Yep, I am stalking others This is my first new catty as a demo (hobby me) I already have a list started on things I WILL NOT DO when the Jan one comes out. I am looking into finding a nice posh sanitarium, maybe on a lake, with a cute doctor who will give me sessions on how to cure OCD. I will trade my stamping and crafting skills, heck I will run that department for them for their services. Anyone know of such a place?????

WOW,
I feel so much better now that I know I'm not alone. My DH's favorite line (or at least the most used) is "what the heck did you do all day?" I'm glad he is a pretty understanding guy. Yesterday I did'nt even notice my kids were outside playing in their jammies all day. I useually refer to myself as a "Domestic Goddess" when people ask what I do for a living but I guess I'm really just a Goddess. There is really nothing domestic about me other than I would rather be home stamping. HEHE
(And the only reason that much vacuuming got done was because I dropped my bowl of cereal onto my toe and it scattered all over the floor.)
Seems to me that if you had a dog, you wouldn't have had to vacuum. Maybe a dog should be added to the list of a stamper's must haves. Definitely reduces the need to pick up spilled messes.

My bedroom is full of clothes that need ironing, mending - and I'm getting tired of wearing just the outfits that come out of the dryer wrinkle free...But my craft room is spotless with every thing ready to go for the next project. Ack!
Admit it, Ladies, we are fabulous. Even if the laundry and dishes wait, our children and husbands are much better off after we indulge ourselves in some time-off from the humdrum daily duties of housewives and working mother alike. Our hobby is a wholesome one--it stimulates our creativity and I can't speak for everyone but after a little stamping or chatting on SCS I am refreshed and am more pleasant to be around... We all need something to inspire us. And you ladies inspire me daily!!!!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Yeah, there are mountains of laundry just waiting to be washed and folded. I'm god at the washing part but I just hide all the baskets of unfolded laundry in any corner of the house where my husband doesn't dare go.
Walmarts has my back--super cheap undies for all!!!
No one is getting hurt, it's just laundry. My poor hubby will wear thick winter socks in summer just because he knows that I am overwhelmed...
