I have seen some great cards on Pinterest by someone called Shayne Eddie. Is anyone familiar with him/her? I was wondering if they have a gallery or blog etc.?
I am not familiar with the phone format I see in the picture...is it Instagram or Facebook or something like that? I have none of those myself.
Looks like a FB format. I'm able to search and find her profile. But I don't see any links posted for a blog or website. I'm obviously not friends with her so there may be other info. Let me do a quick search on IG as well. Nope nothing there under that name. Sorry, I'm not a very good detective. Hooefully someone else can dig further for you

Thank you so much for looking for me. It's possible he/she only uses that method to share her/his work. Somebody uploaded it to their Pinterest and on it went to other's.
I was hoping to see how she/he does some of the printed paper layering. I don't think they are stamped backgrounds. It's kind of like paper tole. Oh well!
Thanks again,
Barb
I don't know but they are lovely cards. Noreen Meekins has a board on pinterest of Shayne Eddie's cards here.
From time to time an "Eddie" posts on other peoples pins that they don't have permission to upload his cards but he doesn't seem to have a board himself.
Maybe we can figure out what the background print paper is all about on our own. I don't think the flower pattrns are stamped. They might be hand done somehow (watercolour, pencil crayon or markers). they look like a print and he/she has used multiple sheets but I have never seen any paper with print like this before. Any ideas?
I got these pictures off Pinterest...they are on multiple people's boards.

My impression is that they are digital prints. I think you could easily replicate by finding digital images, placing them in the corners, printing multiple copies, and trimming down the upper layers. Even some of the elements look digital like in your second example. I suspect they come from digital collections.
Thanks. Yes, custom made printed paper. Some people are really great at graphic art on the computer. It's not in my capabilities at present. I really like the effect. I was hoping there was some paper pack out there that had all these in it. Darn! Oh well!
Thanks for your input.
Don't give up yet. The look is layered flowers right...and then he/she is cutting and lifting parts of it-whether they are digi-printing or stamping them.
You can do that! Do you have any layered flower sets? Looks to me like you stamp it out twice and then cut one down with a die (in this case the square) and pop/layer it to match the full one on the base....maybe I am wrong....I am having trouble seeing these. It looks like it is flowing off the top layer maybe because the bottom image is complete.
Vs if you stamp the two corners on a single layer, die cut a square out, pop that up. (eclipse) Straight on it looks good but if you look from the sides which we can here...the image cuts off. If you have a full image or at least more of it, the look is not cut off the same way.
I hope that made sense.
You can test with images from DP..great way to use one you dont love if you have multiples.
The cards are pretty.

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't have any layering stencils or stamps. I do have paper pads that have multiples of a pattern, but they are an all over pattern, not just the corners. I like the white space that Shayne's cards have. I don't know if I have any to cut a shape out from. I'll have to look.
I do see what you mean about the pattern flowing under the upper layer. That's what caught my eye when I was first inspecting the look of the cards. It reminded me of paper tole which I have never done. I do have floral stamps that I could try isolating in a corner or along an edge and doing it twice identical with a stamp positioner then cutting one smaller as suggested. It will not have the detail and shading that Shayne's has but might still be effective. Maybe there will be a tutorial on doing this sometime.
Thanks again for the ideas and especially for the encouragement that I can do it too. I am always hesitant to try new things without a tutorial to follow.
Lots of his cards don't have the printed corners, just some stamping, die cuts, embossing, and ribbon. You could easily emulate his style.
If you get a layering set you could also stamp the corners on multiple papers with a Misti. It wouldn't even have to be a layering set, just a floral stamp if you don't mind coloring.

True, Shayne has some cards that don't have the paper tole look that are also gorgeous. I like the use of the tiny tags the little birdies and the heart stick thingies (for lack of knowing what they are really called lol). The cards are full of features but still have a clean look due to the white space.
I will try to come up with something using a simple floral stamp duplicated for the layers and see how that looks....But first I have another card to finish off and an envelope box to make for a chunky card I made. So many ideas...so little crafting time.
Thanks for the ideas.
The heart stick thingies are Heart Stems from Impression Obsession. If anyone knows where any of the birds are from, I would love to know.
Funny you should post the heart stems....I just tracked that down last night myself.
I think this URL might be the bird dies but not positive:
The picture of the actual die is difficult to see. Do you think it's the same? I googled small bird metal die.

Reason: SPR - counterfeit product.
That is definitely a CAS card, but still so interesting to look at, lots of details. Love it! It makes me think of Birgit's cards. She has a similar look to this on some of her cards.

Something weird happened to this thread. It is overwide. Hard to read if you dont shrink your computer screen.
You can die cut shapes from all over small pattern paper and and put that in corners. Like...you could have an underlayer with a square piece and then top piece like a corner bracket...Or a swirly corner pair...whatever. Also...look a the backs of your 12 x 12...you might have ephemera like images you can cut out. Or the back of a paper pad...
But....a stamped flower would work! If you color well, you can have multiple shades of color-which is really all layered stamping is...albeit tighter image.
Ellen Hutson is having a 60% overstock sale right now-you could pick up some layering flower sets. Code is OVERSTOCK 21...it will work on things in the category that are already marked down too so you are stacking the discount. Since there are 2000 items in there, I would ask for floral stamps on the left side. It end tomorrow 6/17.
I hope that was the correct card. I have seen so many I could have gotten mixed up.
I need to get my card creating mojo activated so I can try my hand at this look. I have been gardening mostly these days and have to change my mental track.
The one with the heart certainly looks the same. I'm really reluctant to buy from China though.
I have purchased a few items from Ali, but if you do, expect your die to take 2-4 months to arrive. I use my Pay Pal account and don't use a 'regular' credit card to be safe.
just checked out the Ellen Hutson web site... they have an Abstract Landscape Cover Die set that is extremely close to this months Spellbinders Small Die of the Month club... interesting...

Man, have I been on a wild goose chase, or should I say, bird chase. I found the bird dies used on the card; they're by Alexandra Renke: Bird Dies
And thanks for the info on the heart stems; I have ordered them.

That's IT!! You must have had a "bee in YOUR bonnet". Lol. Good job finding it. Persistence pays off!
They will add a real cute touch to your cards for sure. Have fun with them.
********** is 100% counterfeit and similar sites. If it's not coming from a manufacturer *stamp company, or reliable wholesaler like Simon, Joggles, Ellen etc. it's most likely counterfeit. If it's a dollar vs. $28 it's counterfeit.

I see. Thank you for the info. I wondered if companies were buying the no-name stuff and rebranding it with their mark-up. Like they do with department store appliances, vitamins, etc.. There are only so many manufacturers and they sell under different names. Many years ago, when I worked for a major pen company, often named here, we sold to stores putting their names on the product and they set their own prices. They were not considered counterfeit as far as I ever heard, just house brand or generic. My apologies for mentioning ********** in my post.
What about the post of the pictures of Shayne's card's from Pinterest is that Okay? I don't know if the bird and heart stems used are brand name ones.

No they do not. But also - Counterfeiting and house branding are not the same thing.

That's fine unless it links to a counterfeit product from Pinterest.
Thanks for the clarification. I see you have a note saying shop at Amazon. They have the Chinese products listed there too, not so cheap...bigger mark-ups same product. So, caveat emptor! Just buy the expensive stuff and play it safe.
To be clear, I ordered the Heart Stems from Impression Obsession. I found the bird dies at Franticstamper; I haven't ordered those yet, because it pains me to pay almost $20 w/shipping for 3 tiny dies. But I'm sure that's exactly what I'll do at some point. LOL
And IMO, Amazon is no longer a reliable wholesaler. One has to be so careful reading the fine print that it's just not worth it to me in most cases. Plus I've run across several items that are higher than buying direct from the company who makes it. No one is really getting free shipping: those higher prices are there for a reason.

Amazon is terrible now for cheap Chinese rip-offs. I've seen stamps/dies (and "stolen" card samples too) that I could identify as being from Impression Obsession and Penny Black. I do believe that there are some original designs on eBay, Ali and Wish, but for me the amount of research required to try to find out whether they are a copy or not isn't worth the time it would take.

Shayne Eddie's beautiful Cards:
I'm thinking rub-ons might be used. Look at this set of rub-ons by Prima Marketing: Prima Rub-ons There are 3 sheets per package; if they're identical, it would be easy to do both layers with the same design. Thoughts? I'm beginning to believe I'm obsessed with these cards! :lolo:

OOOO LA LA!!! They are beautiful and YES that would do the trick. I was looking at paper tole prints and they might work as well if glued down on the cardstock layers. But I like your idea better.
If you are getting obsessed, I hope it's a fun obsessed. I see your smiling emoji. LOL. This look really is fabulous. No wonder Noreen has a whole Pinterest section just for this one artist.
I really want to try one similar myself. My yard and veg. garden are needing so much attention right now and by the end of the day I'm too exhausted. I go in my craft room to try, but the mojo just isn't there right now. The body yells "REST". I will get to it though.
The original post was a question about who made those cards. Well, the real Shayne Eddie has not come forward yet, but I think it is a woman, not a man, because it's a fairly common name for women. And isn't it strange that SHAYNE is the name of a daughter of EDDIE Murphy (the actor). Either there is a connection or possibly someone is a fan and is using it as a pseudonym (more likely). At any rate, the cards are beautiful and there are more on Pinterest. I've tried googling the name Shayne Eddie in case there is a blog but nothing comes up.
