Most of the swaps on here are only 5 cards... I'd love to organize a swap for 25 or 50 cards, which would mean you make 25-50 of the same card (depending on how many people join the swap) and then get the same number of different cards back! If enough people sound interested, I'll post the swap in the forum. Thanks!
WAY too many cards for me Shawna ;) have you thought about joining several spots in a single swap? that way you can sign up for as many cards as you want -- just a thought.
Let me clarify... I've been in card swaps on other sites where 50 (or even 100) people join, make 50 (or however many people join) of the same card, and then get 50 DIFFERENT cards back. It's more fair then letting the swap coordinator pick who gets what cards out of the bunch since some of the cards are not as great as others. Just like a regular swap but on a larger scale. Some people like myself like the assembly line of making 50+ of the same card, and it's nice to get a ton of different cards back!
I see what you are saying that you will get one of every card in the swap.
For years I used to make about 80 Christmas cards of the same design. I used the assembly line method. This past year I made 10 designs about 8 cards each. That many of the same design got boring and I actually enjoyed making cards this past Christmas.
If you have takers it is a good way to get several different designs. Too many for me though.

Honestly, I think that is why I would hesitate to join such a large swap. Lately I seem to be in swaps with people who are excited about stamping but just starting out. And while I was truly once a beginner myself (I shudder to think of what I used to think was nice!), making 50 cards to get back a limited number that I could use would time that I could better spend.

concept is nice but 50 is way too darn many.. I cannot afford to spend that much money on materials on the off chance I will get back 50 cards of limited value/use to me. even limiting to a certain theme.
Nor do I have the time or physical capability to do that many unless given like months to complete it
I won't join an SBS that has more than 21 people in it for the same reason.

I agree - as much as I would like to join a swap like this, I've been burned too many times by receiving cards made w/ construction paper, etc. instead of cardstock.

Same here, joined a recipe divider swap for 4x6 and a lady submitted a lined 4x6 recipe card with a divider tape to the top. I blame the hostess tho...she should have sent them back and ask the lady to remake them with cs (in a nice way, of course)!
Sorry, to many for me too. Hopefully you will get some takers.
I also love to do assembly line card making! I figure if I can make 12, I might as well make 24, or 50 for that matter!
Most of my cards go to Ronald McDonald Houses, so for me, this approach is appealing.
I have done many different swaps on this sight, but it has been a while. I have hosted and participated in many alpha scrap swaps, which would be 26 pages for a scrapbook! I had really good luck with these, but again, it has been a while. The swaps that I'm hosting for RMD are the first swaps in a long time.
I think it is sad, to hear that people are so unhappy with the cards that they get in the swaps. I think that is why they now ask for membership. So that if you have problems, you can report the people.
Let's see if we can get more people involved!!! I know a lot of distributors do these LARGE swaps. OR at least they used to!
I'll also try to bump this thread!
