Obviously we cannot believe everything we read........MOST college degree holders know how to spell correctly (or at least use spell check), put a sentence together properly and know how to use proper punctuation. But hey, I do not have a college degree so maybe I am wrong. All I know is that I am so busy making sure that my husband is taken care of that I do not have time for schooling.
Yikes.....kinda sounds skeeeery! Are we just a lil project in her mind? Should I run? should I hide? Should I take anotha tylenol cold pill? Hmmmm....perhaps I should just sit back and take notes. Then tomorrow maybe my lil project might come together! *insert evil laff* Bwhahahhahahh
If my lack of cleaning and cooking is low on some days, it can always be made up in bed ;)
and yes, I run through the house like a banshee the last 1/2 hour b4 dh gets home so the house is at least presentable. 3 kids under 6 come on! The entire house becomes their playroom!
wow I didnt know the truth could hurt people so bad--
if it doesnt apply to you just ignore it--
maybe people in New York are just more productive than
other areas-- or maybe actually having a college degree gives me a bit more insight than those less fortunate.
Lets all just let it go and continue on to maybe an actual stamping thread.
I was serving in the military for 8 years instead of college so I could pay for my college.. You may make a little more than some SAHM's or even their spouses, but it gives you NO more "insight"
first, you are a stay home mom,
second, you go to school,
last, you work in security.
my question is when will you be back from your trip to the twilight zone???
If you are that busy, how can you take such good care of your family??
I know you said that this was for just lovely... but I have to add... that you cannot be a SAHM if you work a job... working in security???
I agree with most here... just because you do a fly by cleaning minutes before your DH gets home does NOT make you lazy!! Do you think children come with off buttons??? Cleaning up after children is like shoveling in the middle of a snow storm... never ending!!! High and mighty isn't needed here! I have worked my tail off and if I decide that I want a break I will take one! I have taken care of my children and my DH and am well deserving of having "my time"!!! My children are far from neglected!
how funny. I have never read something as funny as this thread. Just Lovely cracks me up. What a nut job.
I work 30 hours a week, take my 6 yr old and 12 yr old to school and back, do homework with both of them, do all the household errands and appointments, the shopping, laundry on the weekends, go to soccer games and birthday parties on the weekends, help out family and friends. I get up at 6am and finish my motherly/wifely/employee duties at about 9pm when the DD goes to bed. then sometimes we have more wifely duties (if you know what I mean).
cleaning, that I don't do. I have a weekly cleaning person so I love Thursdays. the house smells all nice when I come home. my DH works from home so he is always here, ugh.
so for me, stamping is my only hobby and I have only had it for a year. It is something I really really really enjoy. I usually don't start until after 9pm and sometimes stay up until 1am, but that is my choice. this makes me a happier person which in turn makes my family happy.
so Just Lovely - up yours. To each his own. Who are we to judge?
miss high-and-mighty needs to understand that SAHM work their tails off!!! WAHM work their tails off!!! WOHM work their tails off!!! moms in general work their tails off!!!
i have worked longer and harder since i became a sahm. my house is trashed and i run around trying to clean it all the time. why? 'cuz i have 5 children who are at home all the time! we homeschool so we have art projects, science experiments, 4h projects and sewing projects all over my house all the time. i don't have the time to keep my house spotless, nor would i want to. i want to be comfortable and LIVE in my house. if that means someone has to move a project to sit on the couch, so be it!!!
trust me, i know what it is like to be busy! last year i had a baby while homeschooling 3 children and watching a 4th. all the while i was finishing my b.a. while my dh was finishing his m.a. THAT WAS BUSY!!!! does that make me a better mom than anyone else here? NO!! actually, it probably made me a terrible mom, but it is over and done with.
normally, i don't feed trolls, but this really ticks me off! we are not here to be part of your sick, twisted experiments! we are people and you need to get off your high horse!

Good thing you're here for the ideas, because you're certainly not going to find any friends!!!
All the rest of you hard working moms (in and outside of the house) KUDOS to you all!! Please raise your glass, mug, water bottle, juice box or just plain push the button on the fountain and join me in saying, "I'm proud to be part of the best job in the world--MOM and I'm doing a DARN good job of it--and if I happen to have a chance to sit on my butt and do nothing during the day, then you bet I will and I won't even feel guilty about it!!!

I just had to put in my 2 cents here, because I am a SAHMof 3 young boys and do daycare in my home for 10-12 hours a day, my house is spotless thanks in part to my OCD. I weigh a whole 110 lbs and I do get to watch soaps and stamp ...during the kids' 2 hour nap time. It's all a matter of orginization and time management which I happen to be good at. It's just good to know that we can come here when we need a laugh or to blow of some steam so we are not taking it out on our kids and husbands!

Well I must say, this thread has certainly been entertaining! I was a SAHM for a very short period of time, had to return to work for financial reasons. But I can tell you I worked harder being home with my baby then I ever have working in an outside job. My kids are grown now and I now have grandkids and when all 3 have been here for the weekend I am exhausted by the time they go home! So I take my hat off to all you SAHM's, you deserve a medal for all your hard work and any little bit of time you can find to have some fun and stamp or scrapbook is well deserved!
Speaking of cleaning...I watched a rerun of Oprah last night, and was totally disgusted by the stuff they talked about finding in sinks, beds, and pillows. And the bad part is you could clean forever and dust mites will still be nibbling on your dead skin cells while you sleep! Ewww! Give me stamping anytime.
This was always one of my favorite emails. I like to reread it when I feel a little guilty about spending some "me" time.
Subject: SURVIVOR - AT HOME!!!
This is going to be the theme for the next Survivor Show
6 Married men will be dropped on an island with 1 car and
4 kids each, for 6 weeks.
Each kid plays two sports and either takes music or dance classes.
There is no access to fast food.
Each man must take care of his 4 kids, keep his assigned
house clean, correct all homework, complete science projects,
cook, do laundry, etc.
The men only have access to television when the kids are
asleep and all chores are done. There is only one TV between
them and there is no remote.
The men must shave their legs and wear makeup daily, which
they must apply themselves, either while driving or while
making four lunches.
They must attend weekly PTA meetings; clean up after their
sick children at 3:00 A.M; make an Indian hut model with six
toothpicks, a tortilla and one marker; and get a 4 year old to
eat a serving of peas.
The kids vote them off the island, based on performance.
The last man wins only if he has enough energy to be
intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice.
If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over
again for the next 18-25 years - eventually earning the right
to be called "Mother".
I always tell my friend Kathryn this site has all the material necessary for a bestseller. Something to think about!
Just lovely's last comment thanking us for the material for her paper - makes me wonder - was she purposefully posting obnoxiously to get us all in a tizzy???

And as a lesson for you all you really can not trust what someone types on the internet--- working with security believe me, anybody can type anything. Hopefully you all learned not to believe everything you see in type. My point on security/trust issues has been proven--- thanks for all you help
in proving my point for my paper.
And yes I really do enjoy stamping, I just dont have much time for it as you all dont, because of my schooling. I will be so happy when this paper is complete. Enjoy your night, my project is complete. thank you
If not - she's more than obnoxious and once again someone blew me away with their over the top view of themselves and the high and mighty opinions some SAHM have about other SAHM's. As if any one of you - know exactly what it's like for another SAHM and therefore we should all be lumped together in the same SAHM generalizations.
No one should judge another's life b/c you have never walked a day in my shoes.
ok-- the truth
I am a husband logged on to my wifes computer and thought I would
have a little fun with the ladies. I'm sure you do all work hard, I always
teased my wife she did the cleanin 15 min before I'm home-- hey as
long as she is happy I'm happy. I never expected this response, as
entertaining as it was I hope nobody took it too serious.
Off to work--- good day to you all.
you all crack me up---
this was meant for just the lazy sahm--- not you busy, well deserving pat on the back moms.(like me)
Seriously--Peace to you all. Dorinda--- i wish i was lucky enough to have 5 children. you sound like the perfect mother and wife--- good for you and I'm sure you realize how lucky you are to be blessed with all those wonderful children.
Everybody just relax now and get some rest.
Tomorrow will be a busy busy day again. work work work
Peace and may Jesus be with you.
and no amy I do not know you--- that must have been some other nut head
Well, at least you recognize that you also are a nut head.
For the record, I have a college degree, have written a book and have started my own company. Now I work at home by choice so I'm home when my kids get home. I take time to stamp, talk to my friends and whatever else I feel I need to do to garner some enjoyment in life everday. Obviously you do the same. You are clearly enjoying stirring the pot in this thread. If you think living in New York gives you some insight or reason to lord it over us poor non New Yorkers, you've obviously never seen Flavor Of Love. Your girl New York has given me a whole new perspective on your great state. Are all New Yorkers as crazy as you? I'm only stereotyping since you have stereotyped all SAHM's as lazy.

I think that is a true definition of a troll. So, you proved the girls right.
