Default Alcohol inks on tin box

I am looking for anyone who knows how to use this technique. It was done on a larger tin box with a handle and used to store cards in. I would like to give the box with cards for gifts this Christmas. If anyone is aware of how to do this please help!!!!

Julie...Under forums, Stamping Stuff, there is a section called techniques. You might find what you are looking for there. Good luck!

Oops didn't mean to post that twice. The class was offered at Archivers at the Mall of America in the Twin Cities, Minnesota but I was unable to go and thought maybe someone else went or had instructions on how to do this.

I used Tim Holtz's alcohol inks (made by Ranger), sold at Archiver's and other LSS. There's really nothing to it. I took the class at Archiver's & we used the "tool" that is made by Ranger (has felt on the end that you can change out when you change colors). If you want to make the top part of your tin yellow, put a few drops of yellow on your felt and then dab onto the top part. If you want to lighten the color, use the alcohol blending solution also by Ranger). This dries pretty quickly and then you can put on your 2nd color choice or 3rd, etc. For the class, we were also given the option of using the alcohol inks directly onto a stamp & stamping on top of the color that we dabbed on. It's a cool look (kind of like polished stone).

You can also use these alcohol inks on glossy paper to do polished stone or acetate to make a neat background. Please let me know if you have more questions about these!!

That sounds cool.

I just wanted to add that I've used solvent inks (stazon) directly on the lunchbox tins. Here are samples in my gallery. I made 9 of them in about an hour & a half.
