Would someone please explain what this is? I thought I purchased the right thing, but it is soooo flimsey and hard to work with. If you could give me the exact name or as close to it as you can, it would be appreciated. Also where to buy it. Thanks.
From Stampin Up they are called Window Sheets. It depends on your project as to whether you can subsitute one for the other. Transparencies, I think, are what they are using for see-through cards. Are you using StazOn inks? They are made for this kind of work. I also use Sharpies, but you have to color from the opposite side because if you're not careful it will smear. Hope this helps. I'm sure a demo will answer you more effectively.
SU! refers to them as window sheets. They are actually acetate, which is a.k.a. transparencies at office supply stores.
They do come in different thicknesses, and some are "write-on" only, and others are thermal resistant (the kind that can be run through a photocopy machine). I buy thermal resistant, which are more expensive, however, they can be used for techniques that require embossing and will not melt/warp under the heat (as long as you're careful, anyway!).
"Write-on" only are typically the flimsiest of acetate.
There are also "report covers", which are considerably heavier, but typically they are not heat-resistant, at least to my knowledge they aren't. These are also considerably more expensive.

I purchased color laser transparencies from Office Depot - I can then also do the "latest" technique of printing on the transparencies instead of buying the ones at the LSS for $2.50 plus each. They are NOT inexpensive, but the look is fab!!! Hope this helps
Thanks to all of you who have lead me in the right direction finally! I have read so many techniques using this stuff, and now I can try. Thanks again.
Punky,
Stampin Up has everything you need to make your gorgeous cards!! I love what you do! Window sheets are available for purchase from your wonderful SU demonstrator! Sounds like a class in the making as well.....wanna come?
I LOVE to stamp on transparencies but you need to use Staz-On. One other thing that I have learned is that you need to be very careful when you stamp. I have smudged many images.
