Default ?? about Unmounting "Neighboorhood" Wheel

Hey everyone!!

I have read all the threads about unmounting the wheels, and I think that is a fantastic idea!! It is on my "to-do" list. {along with cleaning my studio, indexing, and even laundry}

I am thinking about the new Neighborhood Wheel (SU! catty p.83) that goes with the All in the Family set...

For anyone that has unmounted wheels, is there any reason why I could not cut apart those little houses? I think that I would love to make this wheel into 5 separate unmounted house stamps.

Do ya'll think it would work?

Thanks!!
Dana

I always unmount my wheels and have cut some apart - so far I have no regrets either. I think it would be fine. I'd say if you think you will get more use out of it cut apart by all means do it!! good luck!

I've been reading a lot of threads about this too, and now that SU! has even fewer cartridges, I have decided to unmount all my wheels. I have a block on order with some EZ Mount. I've never done unmounted before, so I hope that I do it right. I'm a stickler about being able to use all my colors, and I am excited to not having to be limited by the cartridges that I own since I have all the ink pads.

The wheels are super easy to unmount, and I've even trimmed mine a bit more since I am a hard stamper and tend to always get little lines from the end of the rubber. Like Dotty, I agree that anything that helps you use your stamps more is a good thing! HTHs!

I'm planning on cutting apart my Neighborhood wheel too.

I did it with the Sew Sweet and Baby Time wheels and never regretted it.

I'm also planning on doing it with Nature Hike and Batty.

I never thought of this! Duh moment! I was hoping for a new 'welcome to the neighborhood' or 'we've moved' set this catty and figured I'd use this wheel for such purposes. But cutting it apart...GREAT idea! It'd save a lot of work when using just a part anyway.

Hmmm.. I mistakenly ordered two of these (!) and decided to unmount one of them as a test. Never considered cutting it apart, too. What a great idea!

Whew, I am so glad that no one laughed at the idea...

Heck -- it really does seem like a great way to get a "set" of SU stamps for $8.50.

Thanks everyone!

Ok...now why didn't I think of this?!? Unmounting AND cutting the neighborhood wheel apart is brilliant! I never use my wheels, and I just tried to un-mount one the other day--and thought I won't use this either. But cutting it apart into five houses--those stamps I would use! Thanks for the great idea!

So clever! I like the houses all in a row, but apart the'd be cute as well. Hum, maybe two sets isn't such a bad idea.

my husband had the idea to buy two the same wheel and cut by excample the middle part of the whimsy out and from the other the outer part.
than when you wheel you wheel lets stay the outer part in blue use the stampliner and wheel the inner part in yellow.

this way you could have a two colored image.
hmm... not sure if i want to do all that work
