Default 6 x6 question

is a 6 x 6 just for scrapbooking or can it also be a card or is it just for a card--i figure it can be anything you want but what have you typically used it for/ recipes....scrapbook pages....cards???

I'm sure it could also be used for a card although I doubt you are able to mail it without extra postage. Maybe someone here will know the exact ruling on that. I use 6x6 mainly for scrapping personally. Although it it's a cool patterened paper I'd consider cutting it up and using it for cards.

Thumbs up

I did 6x6 invitations for my grandmother's 80th birthday party and it was the perfect size! It turned out great! They sell 6x6 envelopes too. They are extra postage though, so 1 extra stamp to mail. But i really enjoyed working with this size! :p

I LOVE 6x6 cards! Especially gate fold ones. I actually prefer to use 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 envies for these and they mail fine. I found my envies at my LSS. They do require extra postage though. Go to usps.com to see the amount. I usually just put on two regular stamps as I have limited time and don't mail many, so it's just easier for me to pay the extra 20 cents or so.

I've also bought 6x6 envies made by Bazzil (this size is much easier to find than 6 1/2 x 6 1/2). I don't remember what site I ordered them off of though.

big square cards are so cute!~I ordered envelopes at clearenvelopes.com, the 6.5 inch ones.

The postage for a square envelope under 1 oz (which would even include some HPHW) in the US is 52 cents. If it's 1-2 oz it's 63 cents. Also is 63 cents for under 1 oz mailing TO canada. (Yes I send square cards often!)

Okay, Canada postage that I said isn't right. It is 63 cents to mail a regular envie to Canada from the US and an ADDITIONAL 13 cents if the envie is square. Sorry!

I love square cards too. I seem to use circular type things a lot (outlines stamps Funky Flowers and Lace templates) and I think they look better in squares. I think 6X6 is great for a brag book type scrapbook too.
