I am PUMPED.... I completed 42 shower invitations (which I am counting as $2 since I had to hand measure and cut them all into onsie shapes, stamp, emboss, add cuffs, bows and buttons to), 12 Valentines cards, and one altered item - a gift box from paper and coasters..... so I am in the positive $57.44!!!
so that layout's done, right? LOL
Sounds like a great way to spend the evening. Jamies and stamps - what a great combination!
funny you say that...my girlfriend who took the pictures just sent them to me, and I have uploaded them to walmart and will go pick them up today to finish it up! I honestly thought "If i don't do it right now - it will never get done!!"!!
So, does cutting out 125 monkey heads and faces with my cricut using only paper I had at home count toward my totals?
I designed the faces on my CDS and cut them with my cricut. I used 5 pieces of 12x12 and 4 of 8.5x11.
We are doing 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed at preschool and I needed heads for finger puppets.
Please, please, someone give me permission to add it to my totals!
Thanks, Helen
I say yes!!!
I cut 1200 different heart shapes with my cricut this weekend, but I'm not counting it because the paper was bought by someone else. We are making 300 cards for a church function. I love having my cricut. Can you imagine cutting that many by hand?
I did count the 10 sample cards I made because I used my own supplies.
In addition to those I got my swap cards done, also. Yea!! Now on to a quilt I need to get done.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Absolutely yes! This whole thing is about using what you have to make things! (You may want to put some thought into how much to credit for each one, since they were probably faster and easier than cards or layouts.)
I'm making valentines for my brother-in-law's business. I have been pleased to be able to get mostly through them using stuff I had AND without using up any of my paper, etc. Therefore I will be able to add money to my Stamp-to-Spend bottom line without having to replace any supplies!
Sale-A-Bration starts Feb 1, and I am planning to buy a Big Shot then. Working hard to get as far into the black as I can before then.
Ok, I'll take credit for my monkey heads (that sounds odd, doesn't it?) and give myself about $3 for them.
It took time to work it out on Design Studio, but other than that it went pretty quickly. I used lots of paper, but it wasn't expensive paper, so I'm thinking $3 for 125 heads is fair.
I am really going to get into this and hopefully stick to it. so, its kinda like a new years resolution for my crazy craft spending habit. i also buy alot of fun stuff but don't use it at all. maybe just to test it out and thats it or start a project and leave it partially finished. i am really looking forward to coming up with cards, scrapbooking and altering since i already have so many things that i have bought specifically for this but didn't do anything with it. i should probably show this to my husband so that he can see that i am actually doing something with all of my stuff and not just stashing and hoarding lol :-) so count me in officially :-) this is a great and wonderful way to reward yourself and make use of the stuff you already have

Welcome, it is worth it. I love that I am starting to use my stash!

This is a great challenge. I have made 88 cards since the beginning of the year! I just finished 20 cards today as gifts for participants of a workshop I have to teach next month. I can't believe I'm actually ahead for a change and keeping it in the black.
I added category for hosting scrap parties because every few weeks I have a group of young teen girls here using my supplies to create whatever their young minds can dream up. I do need to buy stuff for those get togethers.

Welcome Mary! You're going to do great. I have a suggestion for you and everyone else who might have stuff they bought for a specific 'purpose'. Put those items into a 'Kit' ziploc bag. Or if it was purchased for a specific scrapbook LO, slip everything into the page protectors in that album. Then begin working on those things first.
Good Luck!

I was just thinking, I have a bunch of unfinished projects (from CKU's & conventions, etc). I'm thinking about giving myself an incentive of a $2 bonus for each unfinished project that I complete. What do y'all think of that idea?

well, i just received a new delivery which included by new (yay!!) cuttlebug, their swiss dots die, tattered angels pearl mist and a vintage photo distressed ink. that doesn't count right :-) i ordered those before i started this lol so i definitely have to get some "work" done i am so excited about this challenge :-) i think the sad part is that i already have my "wish/shopping" list and i haven't even started my cards :(
quick ? ladies, what about tools? my cutter is in really bad shape and not cutting well anymore. Are tools a supply or are they like adhesives? thanks
This is a hard one because at first I thought tools are different then adhesives, but you really need a cutter, so I would say don't count the cutter, but if you are buying other tools like punches, etc, then those count.
That's my opinion anyway, it is really up to you. :-D

How about this rule for tools: If you are replacing a broken one it doesn't count but if you are buying a new toy it counts against your totals.
It makes sense to me, what do y'all think?
I made 2 cards today and I'm finally in the black - by 56 cents! OK, it's not much, but at least I'm not in the red anymore.
WOOHOO!!! YEAH FOR YOU!
I am so jealous of your 56 cents. I placed a 150 order of SU retiring items and such and am soooo in the red! And I have stamp club tonight and will be spending another 25 which is our club committment. :o Crop night is tomorrow night so hopefully I can get some money earned!

I think that's a perfect rule for tools.

I was pretty much in the black until stamp club last week. I had a $30 all ready to go and then I added a couple things - as usual.
Get stampin' girl!

do we get credit for cleaning our stamping area ;)
I don't know if we are "supposed to", but I am giving myself credit for that. Once my room is clean, I will actually be able to use what I have, and see what I have, so I am actually less likely to spend money on things I don't need, or things I already have.

This is what I thought too since I can't cut cardstock without a cutter but I CAN make cards without a punch! Thanks so much

I've made a nice little chart for myself in Excel giving myself credit for various stamping projects. So far my stats are credit $84.00, spent $102, balance -$18.00. It sure adds up a lot faster! I want to place a $300 with SU and get just 1 more MS punch then I'm done spending! I'll have to stamp a whole lot to get my credit up.

I sure know what you mean! I'm $33 to the good on this deal, and I have about 2 weeks before I want to make my big $300 SU purchase! Of course, then we'll both have so much wonderful new stuff that there will be NO STOPPING US!

Pam
I think that sounds like a good idea Pam! Go for it.

I agree with everyone else so far on this...cutters and adhesive are a staple so that should not count but yeah, punches should count. ;)
