Thanks Jen for using my idea. I thought this would be a fun challenge as I have so many things to pick from.
To get started on the challenge I decided I would pick a box at random and use the first item in it to make a card. When I opened the lid there was a package of stickers by Elizabeth Brownd (K&Co) and the matching paper. I thought it was so pretty in the store but when I got it home I couldn't figure out what to make with it so it's been sitting in the box a long time.
Today I just sat down and played with different arrangements until I came up with some layouts and embellishments I liked.

Here is my card. I have a ton of misc. DP paper that I never use. I also mounted and stamped with Classic Captions, which I have had forever! I love the classic artwork with the cute sayings. Here is my card:
I just wanted to mention that a few people are forgetting to add LSC97 to the keyword box. You can edit it if you'd like.... and you'll get many more views and comments.
If your card doesn't appear in this gallery... it doesn't have the keyword.
Thanks for the great challenge, Jen! I had bought a bunch of planner/calendars at the dollar store intending to make gifts for all of my girlfriends. I never made a single one! About the same time, I bought several sets of alphabet stamps at Ocean State Job Lot because I just couldn't resist the price ($3). When I realized that I had to MOUNT all of those little stamps, my enthusiasm waned (OK, disappeared).
So, for this challenge, I made myself a planner. I mounted one of the alphabet sets and used it to stamp the year. And, just for good measure...I also used some of that Basic Grey paper I just had to have last year.
Phew. How fun was this!?! Thanks, Jen, for the push. I have mounted 5 sets this morning!
Lots of 'new' stuff loaded on this baby: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
OK, here is my 2nd attempt for the day, and I have to admit, I'm proud of myself for this one. I MADE myself use stippled stencils! I actually figured that I would never use it, so it has been collecting dust! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Here is my 3rd and final attempt for today (I promise!). Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
This one was hard for me b/c I never make 1 layer cards, so this was a stretch.
Thanks so much Jen for the great challenge!
From reading many of the previous posts there are a lot of us in need of this nudge. Jen, I think you could get by repeating this challenge for the rest of the year!
Well, first I had to organize a bit, to get at some of the things below and behind everything else!
I made a couple of cards using a large solid BG stamp I bought a couple of years ago and do not know how to use. So I am requesting all the help I can get!
First challenge all week - LOVED this one, Jen! I used stamp-n-bond and new glitter. Now if I can just figure out what to do with those SU metallic pencils I bought years ago...
O.K. I have looked at everbyody's creations and have I have prorastinated long enough. I'm thinking that this may be a Dr. Phil moment for me!!! I am looking at my Sew Crafty Mini sewing machine that I have had for oh, about 3 years that still is in the box. I bought the batteries for it about 2 months ago so thought I was getting close. Then Michaels had an instruction book and accessories that I bought at 50% off about a month ago. It just intimidates me........sewing is not something that I have mastered.
So, I'm ready to suck it up and get stamping and sewing.........after I feed the dog and put a load of laundry in and..........will post later.

Here's #5! I have more coming. I just don't know if it will be today. I have many more neglected stamps and accessories. I wonder if I've finally gotten to the point that I have too much stuff? Nah!

Thanks for the push Jen (I think).
Oh no! My MIL gave me a Handy Stitch... um 2 or 3 years ago and I have never opened the box! :o I am not a sewer. Does this challenge mean I have to use it? Uh oh!
aunytnanny... if you use yours, I'll use mine!

I am soooo proud of you! 5 sets mounted... You go girl!
Well Jen - I've almost thrown the sewing machine across the room in frustration. 2 attempts and still no thread on the cardstock. DH just came home from work and actually offered to see if he could thread it properly - gotta love him. So right now it's in his hands....maybe I'll go look at the Xyron machine that I got several years ago for Christmas. Will be back!!!
Here's mine!! WOW!! I haven't stamped in a while and the amount of time that this card took me...made that REALLY obvious!! Hoping to do this (or something very similar) for my ws next week....
I was determined to use my sadly neglected metallic pencils for this challenge. I did a gallery search and found this jewel by Lee Conrey. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I used the technique and loved it! Funny thing, though. When I originally colored the ragdoll I didn't color her face b/c I didn't have a white metallic pencil. Completely forgot that there was nothing to resist the ballet blue brayered ink! A blue-faced ragdoll, hmmm... not so cute! Combined with this week's rockin' sketch challenge.
Okay, I found some embellishments yesterday that I had forgotten that I had - from years ago - was making a snow globe card for my dh and thought - hmm, those embellishments will work perfectly. So, I have uploaded the card - it is hard to see the snowman through the vellum, but most of the stuff from my stash is on the front of the card anyway.

OH NO! You're killing me, auntynanny! I have one of those, too.... And I've NEVER used it! DH found it on sale at the local hardware store and I've completely forgotten that I have it! He's sweet... and Ihave no idea why it was being sold there. :p
Here is mine. It didn't come out like I had it pictured, but decided it would have to do. It could even qualify for yesterdays challenge to use something from the dollar store. The tree sGallery at Splitcoaststamperstamp came from Micherl's dollar bin.

I thought I'd use one of a bunch of things I bought at the dollar store. I just can't resist when things are soooooooo cheap! I used a little key charm and combined it with A Light Heart (also sadly neglected) to make a Valentine for my DH.
Not quite a year ago I saw some small gift boxes in Oriental Trading and thinking I would get them and decorate for Valentines I ordered them. They were red! I just couldn't come up with a design. So I set them aside for Christmas--hmm-still no inspiration. Jen you made me think! Today I got the first one done. Now I only have 35 more to decorate and if I do my usual gift to staff and students I need to order another 3 dozen and get busy. But at least I have a plan!! Thank for making me think
This was a great idea!!! Thanks for sharing. I ended up using Laundry Notes. I used one stamp from the set and I really needed to make a friend a card.
Don't laugh too much, but I sure am working with only half a brain this evening. I made the first Valentine box and wondered why it didn't close and lay right when done. I knew I would want some more so I went back to Oriental Trading Co. looking for some more little red boxes. I about fell over when I realized I had put the box together upside down and forced the 3D top to be the bottom. So back to the drawing board I went. Here is my
Well Jen - it looks like you are off the hook. I cannot for the life of me get a straight line with the sewing machine. AHHHH - how frustrating this venture has been. I can guarantee you that this little sewing machine is going right back in the box where it has been for a couple of years.......collecting dust looks real good on it!!!
Here are my first attempts at a Limited Supply Challenge. I made two of them because I couldn't figure out which image from my never used Vintage Valentines to use - so I did both! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
