Here is mine, way fun. Other than backgrounds my mind never wanders far outside the box (my mental box or my stamp case box!!) so this was not really a stretch for me. I just love the Simply Said set!!!
I use this technique all the time for my set samplers to show my SU! customers the versitility of each stamp set. I did alot of cards last weekend (I was at a crafters reteat and stamped for almost 48 hours straight!) that I havn't had time to post yet...still trying to catch up on sleep!! Will get them posted to my gallery either tonight or tomorrow.
I had to re-read this one. I thought it said 1 stamp. My mind was racing getting all excited to try it. I am every excited to try 1 set too. I'll have to get to it after lunch.
Here are a couple that were in my gallery that fit this challenge. I actually do have a limited supply of stamps come to think of it and try to do as much as I can with one set which is what makes the Stampin Up sets so great because they usually give you the flexibility of doing a background, sentiment and main image all in one set as well as intermingling them with other sets. But I like this challenge and will try to come up with a new one over the weekend. Thanks for the great challenge!
After I stopped twitching about the 1 stamp set limit and absolutely no background stamps (since I now seem to have to use 2 or 3 for most cards - and actually spent last night getting them all organized within easy access), I pulled out Winged Things. I love this stamp set but just can't get it to work for me. I have tried, and tried, and tried to make something with this set all to no avail. I was determined today to come up w/something (for you see it is the only stamp set I have today). It's finally approved:
I did another (only 1 challenge this time) using faux mother of pearl. Because of the resist quality of the lumiere, you have much less control over the results of your coloring. Here is my old pearls.

I goofed and have to disqualify this card I originally said met the challenge. I forgot I used the Canvas BG stamp. It is so faint in real life but really shows up on the scanned image. I humbly apologize.
Oops!!I forgot I'm not on my own computer. I'm actually at Allee's for a spring break visit, and the last post here was from me not her. We decided to take on this challenge and here's mine (which is miscommunicated on the above post)!!!

This really is a GREAT challenge! It was a big challenge for me NOT to dig into a background stamp as I seem to use them on almost every card! Thank's Jen!
Here's my first ever post AND my first ever challenge card... and guess what... my first ever gallery post! lol
I just had to do this one... I was super bummed out that lots of folks have LOADS of stuff... and all I had was my dinky little starter kit - this challenge was right up my alley! Thanks for letting me join in the fun!!!

If you post a link here, we can comment in your gallery. So here's a link to PugMom27's card.
Thank you - I still have to learn how to do this link thing... lol
Here's one way: All you do is go to your gallery and when you see the card you want to link, right click on the title and select "copy shortcut"
Then come back here and paste the link into your post!
And another: Open your card thumbnail to full size, highlight the URL address & copy it (CTRL+C). Then come back here & paste the link (CTRL+V) into your post!
Tanya, welcome to the exciting & addicting world of challenges. When posting your link here, it's better to post to the individual cards rather than your gallery. Even though right now those cards are right at the beginning of your gallery, after you upload more, they will be pushed farther down & someone clicking on your link will not be able to find the card easily. If you need help with this step, please see the post right above yours in this thread. You can link both cards in the same post or in two separate posts, whichever is easiest for you.
my 11 year old daughter made some cards the other day and didn't even know that they would qualify for the challenge today. Boy, was she excited to know that I would be posted her cards.
OK, this will not be approved yet but I'm going to bed. Had a lot of fun with this challenge. This was a happy mistake thought. I didn't realize I was making something for this challenge until I was done and ready to post and realized I had only used one stamp set and a sentiment from another set (as per the "rules"). COOL! Thanks for looking.
Here's mine (pending). Combined it with the CC53 (again...love those colors!). This challenge was right down my alley...I just got my first background stamp this week, so usually I feel that my cards are lacking something! Thanks for the great challenge!! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I just looked at my photo on my computer and realized that it is out of focus!! I will try to take another photo later and correct this....still kind of gives you the idea (this is what I get for doing this sooo late and when I need to be preping for a class tomorrow!!)
Welcome to all the new challenge players! I am so excited to see people uploading for the first time! How awesome is that?
Thanks to all of you stepping in to help. I was at the NCAA tournament games last night. I've made it through 1/2 of the cards so far. They are so awesome! I LOVE all the inspiration we get from each other. I can't find the right words to tell you how happy I am to see people enjoying this challenge so much. This is such an awesome site with wonderful people.
Here's my card. Made my own textured paper and used the heat and emboss the brad trick to change a silver brad white. Setiment I used I repeated to add a background look to the very plain space above the stamped area. It just looked to blank.
