Im your guest hostess for this week and I'm very excited to be hosting for Jen! I had a lot of fun coming up with my samples for this week and hope you do as well!
This is a re-run that was first posted in October of 2005 by stampertammy. Remember what it was like when you first got into stamping and before you had a menagerie of embellishments? Let's see what everyone can come up with when you are limited to non-traditional embellishments! When you upload your card to the gallery please put LSC133 in the keyword section and post a link to this thread so we can all go look. Everyone is welcome to play even if you've never done a challenge before...please join us!!!
Inspiration for this challenge: All the neat cards that you see that use a pop can tab, a paper clip, an old earring, or something funky for background paper! Keyword:LSC133 Stamps: Any Cardstock: Any Techniques: Anything goes Designer Paper: NONE Embellishments: Non Stamp/Scrap supplier items Punches/Dies/Cuttlebug: NONE
You may not use any traditional embellishments! No brads, eyelets, ribbon, hodgepodge hardware, dimensionals, patterned paper, Prima's, etc. Anything that you would find in a stamping/scrapping catalog or store for embellishing is OFF LIMITS! Use your imagination...raid the trash can or your craft/sewing supplies. Try an old earring, some googly eyes, pipe cleaners, yarn, Monopoly money, puzzle pieces...whatever you can think of! Staples and paper clips are OK, as long as they are genuine office supply items, and not from a stamping/scrapping supplier!
I hope everyone enjoys this idea and will play along! I'll be anxious to see what you can come up with!
Uh oh.................this could be reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly difficult......I think I used brads on my very first card....and never stopped after that.....LOL
Cool challenge Shelly...I have kept everything forever...finding it may require an archeological dig in my studio LOL. I'll see what I can come up with.
I doubt if I will have time to do this tomorrow, but I think your samples are great! Can't wait to see all the good stuff that is posted. Thanks Shelly for posting this .

And I would get around the dimensionals by using part of the excess rubber and foam from trimming my stamps.....pull it apart and use the rubber, NOT a real dimensional...but it adds dimension!
This sounds so fun and creative, I can hardly wait--but if I raid the trash tonight, my husband might get concerned (j/k) I'll be dreaming about it! Thanks Shelly!
This is hilarious!!!!! Having only really started scrapping and card making over the last year, it's been awesome building up my supply of embellishments etc and I'm now at a point where I feel I have an embellishment for any occasion. Now you go and throw something at me like this - LOL!!!!! I could have done with this kind of inspiration 12 months ago when I had nothing!!!! Great challenge idea - can't wait to play!!! Thanks Shelly
my wheels are turning...have a few non-embellishments ready to go, but the card will have to wait until tomorrow. I'll sleep on it...and dream about my new space too (will post some pix tomorrow--need daylight to get better pix). Thanks for filling in Shelly!
