Challenge Title: Really Stamp It! Hostess: jkanack aka Jean Bean the Dancing Queen Keyword: FF23jkanack Date: Monday, October 23, 2023
I love REAL postage stamps. So my challenge to you is to make a fall or winter card (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years are great but not required) and include as embellishment a REAL POSTAGE STAMP. You certainly can use postal rubber stamp images but, in addition, I want to see a REAL POSTAGE STAMP, CANCELLED OR UNUSED. Ideally, the stamp you include has something to do with the theme of your card. If you want to include more than one, go for it! Make that REAL OR CANCELLED POSTAGE STAMP an important item on your card.
***EXTRA CANDY CANES CHALLENGE: I would like to see mixed media used as a technique. Try something 'new to you' if you like. Remember, mixed media calls for at least two different mediums.***

Thanks for the challenge, Jean. I love using real stamps on my cards. I used to save them off every piece of mail and still have a good stockpile. (The stamps I used are marked 5, which is an awfully small amount, so I'm assuming they were "additional postage" and not the total amount to mail the item.) Here is my card.
Hoo boy. I went overboard on this one, I very nearly pitched it, but then I decided to let you all be the judge. I meant for the rooster stamp to take the focus here, but I'm afraid everything is just tooo much! Might give this another try soon and rein it in some, lol.
Well, it has postage stamps, but no mixed media. No candy canes for me. But here's my card: Santa Postage

I didn't find a lot of useful stamps...but I've found a very old one to make this card for your fun challenge, I keep all my stamps for my uncle who collects them Vintage Mix
Thanks to everyone who has played in my challenge....makes me smile big time. I discovered a few that I hadn't commented on yet, sorry about that. I tend to rely on email notifications when one puts on a link in the thread. I should know better. Love you all!
