For as long as I can remember I have always been a fan of The Nutcracker Ballet. I am in awe of the talent of all the dancers and the incredible costumes. My challenge be inspired by The Nutcracker Ballet for your cards. I can't wait to see your cards inspired by The Nutcracker Ballet.

I was thinking these are wood right? so, I tried to do the skin parts as wood colors and just went with gold and red for the uniform as it would be "Christmas-sy" to me. Who invented nutcrackers?In 1872 Wilhelm Fuchtner, known as the father of the nutcracker, made the first commercial production of nutcrackers using the lathe to create many of the same design.
Where is the Nutcracker based?The ballet takes place in Germany in the early 19th century. The curtain rises on a Christmas Eve party in the Silberhaus home. Additional messenger of good luck and goodwill.
Why is The Nutcracker a soldier?However, nutcracker dolls as we know them today originate from late 17th century Germany. In German tradition, the dolls were in the shape of soldiers and are symbols of good luck and scaring away bad spirits.

Such a perfect challenge Lisa! I drew my nutcracker and ballerina- added some dry embossed "mice" for my background, lots of candy canes, and a tree with presents. I also love The Nutcracker Ballet! Here's FF22ShoeGirl Wonderful Time
