Hi Lydia! We were like Kandie and DH. Just two of us, but still had the whole Thanksgiving dinner with blueberry cake off Pinterest instead of pumpkin pie. DH has never liked pumpkin pie! And I did Butterball turkey breast in the crockpot , recipe right off the Butterball website! It was the tenderest turkey we have ever had! We ate leftovers for dinners through yesterday and sandwiches through last night. Everything is gone now, but it was all good! So we had s restful, well fed Thanksgiving!
Also we did our big Christmas shopping on Amazon ( From SCS link ) on Saturday. Oh, and we did Black Friday at Walmart on Thursday night! I even did small business Saturday! I think we are done except for something small here and there!
Though I had invitations to "come eat with us" from two kids and two friends, I chose to spend the day alone. Fixed a small turkey roast , mini pumpkin pies ( of which I sent 9 of them to one of the destinations of my kid), had a baked sweet potato and enjoyed just thinking and reading and doing some crafting as well. Granddaughter came up late afternoon and spent next two days with me and two grandsons. Grandson helped clean up the leaves in the yard as did the neighbor who wanted them for his compost pile(he had a vacuum thing that sucked those dudes right up.) and we had fun playing "ball" outside with the 3 year old. For a short while Saturday night 3 of my kids, two with spouses and all with children 13 and under were in the house and it was noisy and rambunctious fun. Took an hour to find/put everything away when they all were gone. Opened one cupboard and found a "Paw Patrol" travel mug that wasn't mine so it was returned to the young(2 year old) owner yesterday when he and dad came to move file cabinets, countertop pieces, lockers and more from my garage to theirs. Felt good to be able to just drive in yesterday and not have to judge the distance for door opening closely. today I have already listed, boxed and stored some Charming Tails collectibles that are hopefully going to find new homes soon. Now to tackle the rest of my list. #1 is turkey vegetable soup with the leftover roast. Oh,,,,and the mini pies.....really neat way to do it...each muffin sized pie is just enough.....granddaughter (13) wanted to learn how to do them while she was here and we did apple and some lemon ones......both came out great and we had fun using my new pie crust stamps to cut out snowflakes and leaves for top decor.....glad I could send all but one home with her as I certainly don't need to eat them that often.

Good Morning, everyone! We had a nice Thanksgiving, with just 11 family members this year. I usually have around 18 or so, depending on which grandkids bring a friend, but a couple of the grands couldn't make it. I sent some leftovers home with #2 son (the rest escaped before I could put any "care packages" together!), & we ate the last of the turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy on Saturday. My DH actually loves the leftovers better than the original meal, so I am always thankful for that! :-) We have about 1/2 of a pumpkin pie left, which I am trying to ignore, because my favorite jeans feel a bit tight today! :-) We have beautiful weather here in Southern MN, so a walk might be in order, if I can convince my knees that it would be a good idea!
Off to start digging out the Christmas decorations....and maybe squeeze in a little card-making! I need to get caught up!!

Our leftover finale was diced turkey, mushrooms and peas in a cream of mushroom/chicken broth gravy over buttered leftover biscuits. Yum! (And I personally finished off the dressing and green bean casserole. I could make a meal out of just those two things.)

Kandie, I think I put on another 2 pounds just reading your yummy post!!

We had a nice Thanksgiving, though small. Just DH and my two DDs plus one friend. Most of our family isn't local and my brother, who lives local, headed out of state to have Thanksgiving with his wife's family. Over the weekend, however, we helped yet more friends pack up to move away from California and now this morning, my muscles are sore!
Truthfully, I had one slice of apple pie, 2 slices of lemon cake, and one vanilla creme brulee...throughout the day of course. To top it all off I had to go in for blood work this morning, ouch!
Since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I didn't eat any pie, which is a good thing, because I'm trying to lose a few pounds. I did get a power blender for my birthday last month (actually, I ordered it myself because DH wanted to make sure I got the one I wanted, haha) so I have been enjoying healthy breakfast smoothies and been making my own almond milk. Definitely a good buy ehm gift.
Sorry I haven't been around to play trivia, my DH was hospitalized yesterday with Atrial fibrillation and a leaky heart valve. Spending 10/12 hours a day with him at the hospital.
Patty, I'm sorry to hear this. I hope he is on the mend now.

Congratulations to all the winners! Thanksgiving is a tiresome holiday, isn't it? I spent a week prepping, a day cooking and two days cleaning up. Just before dinner the guys went out to toss a ball around and my husband pushed himself too hard, blew out his knee and is now on crutches. :-x He'll have an echocardiogram for his heart issues and an MRI for his leg today. What a year this has been.

Pie Pie Pie....I live for the holidays and pie! LOL Sugar Cream pie is my favorite right next to Pumpkin Pie...from Thursday to Sunday had 3 pieces of Sugar Cream, 1 piece of Pumpkin loaded with whipped cream!
Quick check in from work (shh, don't tell!). On Thanksgiving day, I had two slices of pumpkin pie over the course of the day, NO whipped topping as I don't like it! I haven't had any since then but there is a whole pie in the refrigerator awaiting someone's attention.
As for the daily challenges, I like them all and try to do most but not all weeks allow me that kind of time. I like learning new things from the technique lover's challenge!
Congratulations to all the winners. Left some love to each one before I go to the doctor. Hard to chose just one challenge, I like most of all of them.
