Thanks for all of your prayers!! My hubby's power port surgery this past Thursday went very well and he was able to resume his chemo yesterday. Now I am praying that he will have minimal side effects and that the cancer will not spread before they can remove his bladder :-)
Also, if you are willing, please prayer for my sweet kitty, Angel- she will be having surgery to remove a large tumor on her side. She is 13 years old and the scan revealed today that it has not spread (it was originally diagnosed as a benign fatty tumor in Sept 17). She has been my "velcro" kitty since she was born and my best crafting companion :-)
Thanks again for all of your prayers- hugs and God Bless!
I am a long time SCS person but I haven't wandered the forums in awhile. Coming across this one is a God thing! Last year I decided I wanted to make a 6x6 scrapbook that was scripture based. I think I may use this thread as an incentive!
My craft room has been a disaster and I haven't been able to get in there to create as much as I'd like. Again, more incentive!
So glad I found this challenge! LOVE scripture cards. I was on the search for some of my scripture stamps. I finally have them all in a container together.
Hi Everyone!! Thank you for your prayers- my hubby has finished two rounds of the chemo and has two to go before they will remove his bladder. In the meantime, my sweet kitty, Angel had surgery as well to remove a fist sized tumor from her side. She has an 8" incision with many staples and I have been staying up all night with her to make sure she does not try to clean the area (she has a cute T-shirt over it so we did not use the cone). Tomorrow they will remove the staples and we are now praying that it has not metastasized (11-14% that it has) since we do not want to have to put her thru any additional surgery or chemo (she is 13).
In the meantime, I have been creating some vintage junk journals and scrapbooks (still need to photograph to post) and did have a chance to create this card using a sentiment from Stamp Simply "Fear Not" stamp set and the retired Stampin' Up! Stipple Shells.
I have been resting in the Lord's promises and love this verse "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in time of trouble. Therefore we will not fear." Psalm 46:1-2
Hello everyone... It's been a while... I finally got time to upload some projects that I made. My health has been a challenge for my family this year... but we keep praying God will help us to go through 2019 with joyful heart and praise. Today, I uploaded one of my Bible art projects that I created in February.
Hi Everyone! Gorgeous cards and I hope to have a chance to visit your galleries soon!
My hubby just finished the chemo portion of his third round- next week will be labs and then he will start the 4th round (and hopefully the final one) before they remove his bladder.
We have a praise as well- we have been prepping our little home in Frederick for sale. By prepping, it is mainly moving everything out, cleaning, etc. and we have been praying for the "perfect buyer".
We did not officially list it but have been sharing the prayer request for the "perfect buyer" with my Mon. eve. Bible Study group as well as our small group and the Lord has answered our prayers!! One of the couples in our small group will be financing it for their daughter (she is a single mom of a 6 yr old boy). We are so excited!!
We are praying that the home inspection tomorrow will go well and no major surprises. After that, they are going to do an Environmental inspection, and if that goes well, they will be honoring the contract (we are selling "as is" and the buyers are paying for all inspections and closing costs)!
If you are willing to pray along with us, please pray that this is the Lord's Will and all of the inspection results will be OK and they will continue with the contract.
This verse is in honor of two of our Christian friends who went to be with the Lord this month- one was 74 and the other 94. I served with both of them on Sunday morning with the offering count and they were wonderful testimonies of living for Christ! We will truly miss them here on earth and so thankful that we will see them again :-)
Hugs and God Bless! Praying for you as I read your posts....

Here is another card I made for this challenge. Love scripture cards! Trying my hand at more CAS cards. No layers, No ribbon, No bling of any kind. These single layer cards are perfect to send to our inmates. (prison ministry)
So sorry to hear that you are unsubscribing Jeanette....we are just not a very chatty group. Technically this was originally a once a month challenge so I know many of the participants are used to just posting their cards or projects once a month. Hugs and love to you, sweet friend!
To the rest of you, I apologize for not being more chatty- my hubby is still struggling with his bladder cancer, we are selling our little home as well as normal day to day. His bladder removal surgery date will be set soon so we are trying to get all of the big "stuff" (heavy furniture, tasks) done as soon as we can. Of course, the rain and both of our major health issues are not cooperating. It takes more time to complete tasks than when we were younger for sure! We did not have children and we attend church in Martinsburg, WV (about an hour a way) so we have not asked our church for help yet...we did not want to ask until he has the bladder removed.
Moving all of the furniture, cleaning, mowing, etc. take a toll and I am not able to sit at my computer or craft desk as much as I would like :-) Again, my apologies if this thread is not what you had hoped...if you want to be more chatty amongst yourselves, please feel free to do so :-)
Hugs and love to all of you and I hope many of you will stay and participate!
Julie, wish i lived closer! You have a lot on your plate and are certainly not the only one that hasn't been chatty. I've been dealing with a bad cold for over two weeks now, buts that's no excuse for the other times I'm lacking. I'll try to get something done today!
Thank you for all of your prayers!! The house settlement will be at the end of this month- PTL!!
I had a chance to create a card using a beautiful verse that is perfect for this season in life for us- Romans 12:12. This stamp is from a retired Verve set called Good Works and I love how Julee used the different fonts.
Also, this is a one layer card (another difficult type of card for me) so a very simple one for sure :-)
Here is another card using Psalms 30:2 as the sentiment. I am hoping to get this card mailed to a sweet Christian friend of mine that recently had back surgery- she is having a lot of pain and struggling with fear....her son has had numerous back surgeries and lives with constant pain as well.
Hi Everyone! Praise the Lord, our main home (little house) has sold and we have settled!!
One major task accomplished and we are so thrilled that the Lord brought the new owner to light (she is the daughter of one of our small group friends :-))
My hubby is waiting on a surgery date for his bladder removal/reconstruction (radical cysectomy with an ilieal conduit) the end of this month, we are getting a new lawn tractor delivered to our new main home tomorrow (so I may have to help mow and it will be a sight- lol!) and he goes for pre-op appointments on the 12th. We still have a lot to do to get ready but the Lord will be with us for sure!
I created this card for a wonderful young lady that graduated from home school and I have a feeling will be part of our family in the future (my nephew has been "sweet" on her for several years). Of course, chaperoned dates, etc. once she was 16 (she is now 18 ).
Also, if you are willing to add our kitty, Angel back in your prayers- she had the major surgery to remove a very large tumor from her side in March, recovered well and was back to her normal self, but in the last week or so has been exhibiting signs that the tumor may have returned.
We will need wisdom for future treatments for Angel since we do not want to have to put her through more surgeries, etc. not to mention the stress and expense (she is almost 14). She is still eating and cuddly at night but we know she has started to change....
Hugs and thanks again for all of your prayers! May the Lord bless you greatly this month!!
Thank you everyone for all of your prayers! My sweet kitty, Angel had to be put to sleep this past Thursday morning. We are heartbroken but are thankful that she is no longer in pain.
Also, my hubby will be having his bladder/prostate removal surgery tomorrow.
If interested, I have a few photos of Angel and a bit more details on the blog post for this card (see the link in my gallery photo). I love the verse Phil 4:13 and the font on the stamp from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps:
Hello Julie, I'm Sue Ellen and saw your post. I just prayed for your hubby's surgery and for you too also to have peace. Praying for relief of pain for him and a quick recovery. Also so sorry about your kitty, I had to put my 18 year old kitty, Mollie down a month ago so I know how hard that is.
I did want to ask you also how your friend who was recovering from back surgery was, I have first hand experience with that and I know the fear and all that comes with one surgery after another. I had a spinal stimulator implanted to help with my chronic pain in my back. I would love to pray for her for strength and for no fear, and relief of pain. I am fortunate to have friends with chronic illness that help me through pain etc.. It's so good to have a network of people that can pray for you at a moment's notice.
Anything I can possibly do to help, just let me know. Going to get out my scripture stamps and create a few cards now.

Hi Sweet Sisters in Christ!! Some of you are also following our Bible Art Journaling thread so this may be a repeat for you (here is the link to that forum, if you are interested in joining us- Bible Art Journaling 2019 - Splitcoaststampers).
Praise the Lord, my hubby's surgery was very successful today! Both surgeons were pleased and they will biopsy a few lymph nodes to make sure that the cancer had not spread outside the bladder but the urologist felt confident that it had not, PTL!
I have been at peace throughout this entire time (with a few times of sadness thinking about if it is God's Will to take Dave home, sorry for myself more than for Dave- he would be in Paradise with the Lord!), but overall, very confident that the Lord is not done with Dave here on earth yet.
Dr. David Jeremiah is one of my favorite Bible Teachers and his recent messages of "Slaying the Giants" is a very comforting at this time in our lives. Sometimes the hardest part of our faith is understanding or accepting God's Will- I pray that Dave and I will always be trusting in Him and His Sovereignty.
Thanks again for your faithful prayers- we are now praying for a quick and complete recovery for Dave and that he will be home soon getting used to his new "normal".
Also, thank you Sue Ellen (bgpunky) for praying! I am sorry to hear of your back issues as well as the loss of your sweet baby. I will add you to my prayer list as well. My friend's name is Sharon and she is healing, but slowly. Thanks again for sharing with us and we look forward to seeing your lovely creations in the gallery.
Love and hugs to you all- praying that you have a blessed week!
