Progressive Challenge 11 Task 2
We have a fun little twist in this week's challenge! There are 3 steps to Task 2.
1. Add two images using elements or brushes.
2. Add photo corners or other embellishment to the four corners of your photo.
3. And here's the twist: I want you to add a word collage a/k/a word cloud. You may use pre-made subway art or anything youd like that collects a group of words in a border,
but Im hoping youll try using the Wordle program, found free on the internet. If youve never used Wordle, or anything like it before, heres what it says on the website:
Wordle is a toy for generating word clouds from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like.
This is such a fun little programfree and online here:
Wordle - Beautiful Word Clouds .
The only hitch is saving your design to use on a page. The program only lets you save to their gallery or print it out, which doesnt help if you want to add it to your digital page, HOWEVER . . .
. . . I found a super, free Windows program that allows you to do a screenshot and save the image as a jpeg, which can then be added to your page. The program is named
Greenshot and can be downloaded here:
Greenshot - a free and open source screenshot tool for productivity
Greenshot is one of my very favorite programs and I use it for so many things, not just digiscrapping. I can recommend the program and have never had trouble with viruses or such. Once you install the program its easy to use. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have.
Play around with Wordle, and when you've got just the right collage, save it and add to your page! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
NOW UPLOAD:
- Remember to first save your page in its original version to maintain your layers, so you'll be able to make changes/additions in Task 3.
- Save your page for the web as a .jpg (600x600 or less) & upload to the Gallery by adding the keyword
DGSCPR0011Task2 and
SBC13APR when you upload. Please also post a link to this weeks work in
this thread!
