CC313 -CRUSHING the BASHFUL BLUES with PIZAZZ!!! - 3/8/11
Well, here I am - a survivor!! I survived my first round of hostessing a challenge and here I am back for more, a glutton for punishment Actually, the glutton for punishment is my fearless friend Vicki Dutcher who has offered to graciously lead the blind once again! THANK YOU VICKI!!! I'll be calling sharply at 11:00 tonite for round two of TERRIFIC TORTURE, just for you! I could be a card designer forevah.....every week for the rest of my LIFE but when it comes to being the one to make the challenge happen, well, I will just say things haven't changed much just because I did it once. LOL. Anyway, I chose colors a long time ago, and turned out they were almost not exactly but pretty darn close to being the same colors that Julia chose last week. So I went back to the drawing board and came up with these lovelies:
Concord Crush
Bashful Blue
Pear Pizazz
Nice, right? I think you will love them when you work with them, I did! For dessert, another one of my favorite stamping delicasies, the ever popular white gel pen. Here is a white gel pen tip for you. I own at least 64 of those babies. Every time I place an order, I get 3 more. It's a kind of side sickness unto itself. BUT part of the reason is because of the 64, about 8 of them actually work. The other 56 just sit in a cute little handstamped flower pot on my stamp desk and look pretty. So my daughter in law Jenna, who most of you know told me she heard if you take it apart and blow into the ink long skinny thingey it makes the ink come out. True....true....but it also makes your cheeks ache and gives you a massive headache. So I decided to keep trying until I found a way to get the illusive ink out of the pen and onto my paper. I found a paintbrush with a handle just the right side to ram down the ink barrel of the opened pen. And guess what? When you put the end of the perfect sized paintbrush down into the barrel of your white gel pen, that puppy actually starts DRIPPING INK. It's like a stamping magic show. I did it at a workshop last week and people applauded. Well, not really but almost. But it works. And I am anxious to try it out on all 56 of mine. If you have one that is just plain empty this tip won't work. But all those clogged ones, give it a shot, I promise it works. You will all be sending me thank you cards this week. Get out those paint brush handles, ram them down the barrel of your clogged white gel pen, and have some dessert this week!!! Happy Tuesday everyone!!
Here are my fellow partners in stamping (and I)to show you our wares:
Please keep in mind, too, that while we list SU colors for the challenges these are just color reference points. Use the closest colors you have. We want everyone to be able to play!!!
Please put CC313 in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card! If you need help uploading click here! (and if anything actually happens when you "click here", give me another big fat pat on the back....cuz I have no idea if that link will actually WORK after I post it!) NEXT time it's my turn this is gonna be a piece of cake,,,,oh yah.......
Uh Yah, that link didn't work last month for me so I don't expect it will this month either,,,,although I do believe in miracles, do you?
After not being able to contact my right hand Vicki.....I resorted to PLAN B,and then C.....and finally got that gallery where it belongs!! I deserve a medal!!!!! ;) Here is my card for this week:
Wonderful colors, Karen, but I'm skipping dessert this week! MY CARD

Karen, this is a gorgeous color combo! Thanks for the tip on the gel pen, I was in too much of a hurry to mess with my one (yes, Karen, I only have ONE!!!!) gel pen and see if I could get it going, so no dessert today! Here's my IRISES
Oh my goodness! Thanks for the gel pen tip! Those clogged gel pens frustrate me to no end! (LOL) I'm going to try it this very minute...and then if I can manage some stamping time tonight, these gorgeous colors!
What beautiful colors! I will be missing the challenges for a week--going on vacation. See you all when I get back. Great job as hostess, Karen. Bye, bye!

Heee, I was cracking up at your post, Karen! Hope I get some time to play...I have been missing SCS challenges and I wannnna plaaaay (best whiny voice!)!!
I'll be back later to play. After all of that work and your determination, who wouldn't play just to support you?!? AND on top of that - your tip about the white gel pen. I don't have 56, but I do have a few that don't work. I think I'll see if a bamboo skewer is "the perfect size" to jam down the ink tube. Love the colors you chose.
thanks for a great color combo Karen! I just had time to make a quick card....have to study for Skills Day tomorrow at work....ugh.....but wanted to play just a bit first!
thanks for a great color combo. when you mentioned white gel pen for a
bonus; my heart, dropped. I was wondering, also, if any of them work,
I may have one yet that does.

Whew! I didn't think I would find time to do this challenge today, but it only took me about 30 minutes to make my card. Here it is -- A Better Person.
