It is sooooo much easier to make a card with a challenge in mind than what I have been doing, which was to sit down with not idea at all as to what I was going to do. Having pulled out almost all of what I have for inspiration only seemed to create a clutter that was difficult to work with. Starting with a challenge, the initial idea is presented and I only pull out what I need. It is so much quicker and less of a clutter to clean up after. Here is what I came up with. What a wonderful color combination this was. Thanks for the challenge :p
I haven't done a challenge for awhile now - haven't had much time to stamp lately. I like the color challenges. I don't have Bayou Blue ink, so had to stick to the other colors in this challenge for the stamping.
This is the first ever challenge I have done. While I love these colors, I had a really hard time as I was trying to use my often not used Carte Postale set - lol! Anyway, it ended up real simple and I am not sure which way I like the card better - horizontal or vertical, but nonetheless, it's done!
I don't really like Sahara Sand and this is why I do the challenges every week now! It gets me doing things I don't normally do or use! THANKS for that!
I really wanted to try out Lori's split negative tutorial and tried to find an image that would do it justice... So here it is in Travel Post, I have always loved this set...so here it is in the challenge colors.

This is my first challenge, so I am really excited. I am very much a novice at creating cards, and I get ridiculously proud when I accomplish it.
I had to make some subs since I didnt have Sahara Sand card stock. I used Naturals Ivory instead. I managed to get the Sahara Sand in there, though, using eyelets!! Putting colors together has never been my strong point, so I am grateful for the suggestions.
Please go to my Gallery, jmwfromva, or to Like it a Latte Gallery to view my card, as I couldn't get the link in.

ok, I'm a newb to SU! and therefore have very few of the required colors. That being said, I do have taken with teal ink, so I think I qualify. Just a silly design that came to mind. Next time, I would give the phone more bling and change the font size and style on the words. tfl
My 3 grandchildren, I love being a Grandma! My profile picture is a 5 generations picture with my granddaughter. I'm the one in the pink. lol (Back Right) Too fun.
