Jami, Just tried to upload card to my gallery. It's called "Pull Along Truck". I'm not sure if it "took"!!! It took forever to upload. I'll have to check it out later to see if it's there. Thanks so much for all your help. Meg
I'm going to try this one more time. If it works, thank you, Jami for your great instructions. If it doesn't work, I'm an idiot!!Gallery at Splitcoaststampers I think it worked!!! Meg
Okay, I don't know what happened, but I got deleted from SCS and all my posts with it. So if some of the replies in this thread look weird, that is why. So, I rejoined, and here is my card for the January card challenge. I even tried the secondary challenge by using a stamp that wasn't "christmassy" at least I don't think it is even if it was in the holiday mini.
I hope that worked. Funky things going on here at SCS...Dawn getting deleted, and just now the page said "Page 3 of 4", but there is no Page 4???? Weird!
Mine are done!! Super simple (and case'd) but they are done. I started these at 4:00 a.m. so I'm just glad they look halfway decent
Forgot to add I got a total of 24 done!! I didn't have much more red paper so I figured I'd just use it up and then that new to me holly wheel was sitting there and I had to use it too.
Also, my goal for this one was to use up some stuff. I have 3 different kinds of red ribbon on my cards but I used up 2 spools of red where I just had a little bit and wasn't worring about them all looking exactly alike.
We have 72 participants and 18 have already completed the Challenge for January!! I just updated the spreadsheet attached to my post at the beginning of this thread (2nd post). This is my first time working with an attachment like this, so I hope I did it right. Please check the spreadsheet and let me know if I left anyone out. I (or Shelley after her move) will update 3 or 4 times each month.
Okay, I'm panicking a bit about this. I can't seem to come up with a design that I like. The trouble is that we always have a letter and a picture of our son with the card and somehow I try to coordinate them all together. However, usually (well, last Christmas), I did the letter first and then got the picture and then the card followed. Now, I'm having a stamper's block because I can't figure out what to make my card look like. Will it go with the picture that I haven't taken yet? I know I should let go and just come up with something but it's not happening... :( I'm one of those make 100 of the same design so I'm not 'too' worried about keeping up as much as getting that first one done!
How about just starting off with a color scheme and a stamp set you want to use. Do you prefer traditional Christmas colors or maybe blues or even purples? Whatever color scheme you choose you can be sure your son wears something to coordinate later when you take the photo. As far as your letter goes...how about stamping the border for the letter to match your card? You could do them individually with a wheel or you could do them more detailed and just scan it into your computer to print like stationary. HTH.
I have my colors narrowed down (blues) and I know the stamp set (snowflakes). I've looked through the gallery for inspiration. And I'm considering doing one of Andrea's sketch challenges as my layout. So, I'm almost there. I'm not too worried about the letter because as you suggested, I have made it match in the past to the card (rather than the other way around, except for last year).
Here's another problem I have with the picture and card. Our card last year (04) was 8.5 x 5.5 (i.e. used full sheet of paper) so that the letter and picture would fit nicely inside. Well, picture sizes these days are 4x6 and card sizes are 4.25x5.5, so does everyone find special places to get 3.5x5 pictures made now or do you just buy larger envelopes and let the picture hang out or do you crop all of them by hand. I've done all of these in the past but I'm really trying to make it easier on me this year AND look nice.
OOPS I posted to the other thread. Sorry! I got my 10 Christmas cards done for Jan. I am uploading it to the gallery now if anyone wants to see it.

Hello Christmas Stampers,
I finally got my first group done tonight and am pleased with them. I have decided to go ahead and use up some of the materials I had already in stock before becoming a SU Demo, especially since we won't know which sets will be in the next catty anyway. And, it will also be an opportunity to use some of my "other" beloved Christmas stamps. (Did I really say that?!) Now to think of something for next month.
Happy Stampin'
Betty
I thought I would get my January cards done this weekend, but spent too much time on SCS and no time ot stamp! I have the prototype so I know I will get it done before the end of the month!
Congrats to all those who have completed January already! I'll update the spreadsheet again next weekend.
Keep Shelley (photocropper) in your prayers as she is in the midst of a big move. I think she may be living in a hotel at the moment.
I've finally got mine done. Almost. My Christmas word stamp is too large so this is the only one with words on, until I find a smaller verse stamp.
these were too labor intensive I'm glad the challenage amount is so few.
Okay, I was home from work today for a little "me" time and thought I'd get my February Christmas Challenge cards done. No, I'm not an over-achiever by any means!! It's just that I'm going to be away from home for 3 weeks (on business) in February and getting these out is one less thing I'll have in the back of my AR mind bugging me!!
This was the first time I REALLY used Pearl Ex (over Versamark on the background)---what a mess! There is a fine layer of P/E dust all over--including my fleece sweatshirt! But I'm very pleased with them---the scan just doesn't do them justice.
Last I looked, the photo was still pending approval but I'm sure jcbalcer will get to it very shortly. Here's the link:
Jami--do I need to update the spreadsheet? Last time I couldn't save it..... By the way--LOVE the hair! I remember those days....although I wish I could forget them!
Yea!! I finally finished them- just under the wire! Thanks for the deadline- it really helps. Since I don't know how to attach my gallery picture, it is in my signature below.
If anyone can tell me how you do that, I would be appreciative for a long time.

This was posted a few pages back, so I know some of you missed it. I'm posting again because it would be so wonderful if everyone could post links to their cards...
For anyone who does not know how to post a link to your photo (or post the thread link in your photo description) here is a VERY rudimentary explanation:
Let's see if I can explain it...Of course you may be using a different program or something...so maybe it's not the same on your computer...but let's see...
Once you have your picture on your screen (or the thread you want to reference) look at the very top where your control bar is and you will see Address. next to that is the address starting with http. Take your mouse and highlight that address by clicking on it (on my screen it turns green when highlighted. ) Then take your mouse and click on "Edit" at the very top of your tool bar. One of your options will be "copy" - click on that.
Next go to wherever you want to post and type in your message. When you get to the place where you want to refer to your picture (or to the another thread) just go back to the top of your control bar and click "Edit" again and you will have the option to "paste" - click that. Then you'll have the address that you copied before.
I'm very visual and soemtimes have trouble with written directions for computer stuff. I know most of you know all that stuff, but I was so excited when I first learned it...thought it might help someone.
Finished my 5 cards this morning. Not my finest work, but they are DONE! Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I'm going to come up with a different design for next month.
Okay, I'm finally done with Jan. This has been difficult due to remodeling plans that have really been screwed up. I can't post my card till we get the computer back together that has the scanner.(long story). Any way, mark me down for 10 Christmas cards, 15 Valentine 's Day cards and 11 swap cards ( if those can count -technique swap) . Here's the link to the Valentine's Day card I made,(also used it for my polished stone technique in the swap I participated in and with a wording change or two ,it will be an anniversary card for my folks next month).
I completed the challenge for January, but decided to do 5-6 cards each month instead of 10 because I don't need 110-120 Christmas cards.
For my card this month, I CASE'd the following card, but changed the embossing powder to Irridescent Ice and the greeting to Celebrate from Wonderful Words.
Did post that I've finished my 10 for January but just haven't had time to upload because I've a guest from the UK right now. I'm also not very good with getting that sort of thing done but when I have time I will 'study' it a little and try!!
I am so bad I haven't done the challenge for this month and won't have it done by tomorrow. I got sick and just forgot about it. I will make it up in Feb though as I won't be doing many Vday cards.

What's today's date? The 31st? How did that happen????
Well, nothing like waiting until the very last possible minute...
I've done my 10 for Jan and 10 for Feb. I'll be doing the same design all year so it's just as easy to do 20 when you have all the stuff out... isn't it?
I'm not sure I'm happy with the final version but it's as good as I can come up with right now.
Here it is... Please feel free to tell me what it needs.
Nothing like getting in under the wire ! I barely made but happy to say that I did. SO glad I signed up for this challenge.........it has definitely given me that little push I needed to create some things of my very own
