I know Chris. Sometimes life just gets crazy. Things are finally slowing down a little at work and now it is time to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather and all that entails.
I haven't been on splitcoast much lately and just came across this thread. I will sign up to start in June for 3 cards per month. Better late then never!
Hi...I have been hiding at my physio-therapist...but he is helping me quite a bit and I made 3 cards ...simple...but I made them all by myself! do I get an ice cream?
I see that some others are also behind on making 2014 Christmas cards, but I'm not sure I saw anyone who had only made cards for January. I got busy this week and made my February set, mainly because I wanted to use my new hexagon punch.
Well I have made quite a few for July...unexpectedly...seems the "polar vortex" is keeping us for being HOT HAZY HUMID with extreme heat alerts...none yet...yyyeaahhhh!!! I should sit down and count how many I have already done and get my addressee list up
Am I behind.... Hmmmmm nope... I figured it would be too hot this month but thanks to the polar vortex we have had a cool July... No extreme heat alerts....yeah!
Since I mail out most of my Christmas Cards, I need ideas for elegant, or really cute Christmas Cards that have to be flat. Last year a brayered a card using glossy card stock, but stamping the images on the card first with Versamark champagne ink first and then brayered a blue kaleidoscope ink and they looked fabulous! I finally started making cards for this year and I have so many scraps, papers and embellishments from years past I am challenging myself to use as many of those up as I can. I still would love to see a new idea that is pretty or elegant or really cute but is easy, and flat so it is easily mailed. Anyone have any cool ideas for that?
Thanks for any help!
I mail all of mine...so no more than 2 layers....there is a section called clean and simple cards in challenges...their gallery is huge...as soon as I get to the computer I will send you a link....I have one in my gallery too I think...give me an hour or so
I have to admit I am a layering freak. It's weird to say that I find clean and simple a real challenge for me! I'm going to bite the bullet and challenge myself to do some clean and simple! Thanks for the suggestions!!!
Hey, Vikki Jo - the October challenge doesn't seem to be listed when I go to the Christmas Card Challenge from the SCS home page. I found it with a search in the Forum, but it's not easy to get to it! Any chance you can do some magic and fix it?
Many thanks for all you do!
