Sandy it doesn't matter if you're cards don't fit in with the monthly themes, mine don't always either as I have to go with whatever idea pops in my head at the time but I still post them, so should you as we'd all like to see your creations.
I can't remember if I already posted in this thread but will try to meet a goal of 10 per month. I like the idea of creating kits and taking to a monthly craft day I attend with friends. Maybe I'll try that. Hopefully it will keep me on track.

Oh, sure, I'm in - felt so odd this year buying most of my cards - cannot remember the last time I did that. Will be making lots of happy cards again this year, so my only hope for Christmas cards is if I do some challenges throughout the year.
I'm thinking I probably should do 4-5 per month - we shall see how that goes. At the very least I'd like to get 1-2 done each month for those friends that I absolutely want to send handmade cards to.
at least you sent cards, Deb. I refuse LOL so I didn't send any at all. Count me in. I'll be posting Christmas card challenge to my blog and posting a Christmas card to both my regular crafting blog and my SU blog around the 25th of every month.
I need 15 cards per month (though I may craft by group of recipients) and a minimum of 60 treat box tags.

I was the world's worst participant last year. I actually made way more than my goal of 3 per months, but I ended up posting very few of them because they didn't fit the monthly themes. I make them mostly for a charity for shut-ins, and I donated 60 cards to them this year.
I'll try again for 2017, with a goal of 2 per month, to hopefully give me a better chance of photographing them and posting them. (Besides, I think we will be moving this year which will definitely set me back on production.)
I think the themes are just to inspire you if you're stuck on what to do. you don't have to actually follow the theme.

I'm sorry I haven't been around since I initially signed up. I had some major problems with my foot (that's been operated on 3 times in the past 2 years) and my leg, which swelled much bigger than I ever thought I'd see it, going in to Christmas. Our holidays were nice. Both of my sons and my 3 grandchildren made it in from out of town. The only blip on the horizon going into Christmas was that my husband had to have a prostate biopsy on Dec, 22 because his levels has been climbing slowly over the past few months. The doctors said they really didn't expect to find anything, but they'd feel better doing the test.
Well, you guessed it. We got the call Thursday, my husband has prostae cancer. The doctor has only talked to him on the phone since the biopsy, we'll meet him in the office on the 9th to go over all of the options we have and what comes next. The doctor did say it's the least aggressive type of cancer you can get and that we caught it very early, but those words aren't making me feel better yet. I'm sure once we talk directly to the doctor and get everything explained, this constant sense of panic will go away (I hope).
Any way, I still plan to participate, but please understand that, between my own health issues and trying to take care of my husband, I may not be around for chunks of times sometimes.
Thanks for understanding,

Tracy, so sorry to hear about your health issues and your husband's diagnosis. Hopefully all will go well with his treatment and that 2017 will bring better health to you both.
I've not been around either since signing up. Haven't had much time to be in the craft room creating, or even to lurk around the threads. As much as I love Christmas, it's just too hectic most of the time. But it's a new year, time to get back in the saddle! Happy 2017 to all, and happy crafting!
How fun! I would like to join the challenge. I am shooting for 3 cards per month.
My screenname is starduststamper
My name is Cheryl.
I looked through the monthly ideas, how clever! Thank you for letting me join!
Welcome to Cheryl and Pauline, and great to have Stacy, Patti, Kelly and Patti back for the new year!!
Tracy - so sorry to hear about your spouse. My spouse had prostate cancer also. He was only 48 at the time! It's the way we spent our 25 wedding anniversary, him in the hospital having surgery to remove it!!
He is cancer free all of these years, we will be celebrating our 40th in June!! They removed the entire prostate, no radiation. It was found just in time that the cancer did not start moving out of the prostate. Now our sons must be checked early since DH got it so early in life.
Tracy - take care of yourself! If you can not make cards just pop in and say hello, all of us would like to hear from you!!
Christmas card making should be stress free, combine challenges when you can, cut paper for a card when you are in the mood, put the card together later when you are sitting watching tv as a way to keep things stress free.
Happy New Year to all of you wonderful card making ladies!!
We meet with the doctor next Monday to find out what ridding my husband of cancer is going to entail. We spoke to my doctor a little bit today, and she said his number was really quite low so we should try not to worry. Between now and the meeting, we've agreed to no research on the computer til we have a better idea of what we're looking at according to the doctor. Hopefully, it will save up from going totally insane.
Thanks for your good thoughts and for sharing your success. I imagine our boys will have to be checked in their 50's, as well. That's when my husband numbers first started noticeably going up.
Take care and have a good week,

So sorry to hear about yours and your husband's health, Tracy...sending some prayers your way to hopefully help out. And, to several others who haven't been up to par lately!
Here, I've been feeling sorry for myself with a very bad cold over the holidays, and still not feeling up to par...I think holiday preparations wore me out!
I'm starting to feel a little better after almost three weeks...so I'm on the mend and want to get back to my crafting table soon. That little sleigh card has been mulling around in my head...so I'd better get busy before it flies away!

Reason: left out words
I have a question. I think I noted that this year you were going to add the month to your posting, i.e., CCC17FEB, rather than just CCC17. Does this mean that they would group themselves within the post according to the months they are for or will they just be randomly entered according to the date the person posts them? Does that make sense?

Longislandjean is my SCS name and my name is Jean and I would like to do 3 cards a month. If I do more that would be great! Any leftovers could be sent to a needy foundation. This year I was a complete mess. I did about 12 cards and then couldn't decide who should get homemade cards and who should get store bought cards and I didn't want to offend anyone so, in the end, I didn't send any out. I need help, lol.
I will like to join this challenge. Hopefully this will help me to avoid the last minute rush and pressure. I have my fingers crossed that I will meet the challenge like a champ.
Oops if you are new to splitcoast.. go back to the first page..You will find a message with all the months listed..Click on January.. now get to work everyone!!! Lol

All cards with the proper keyword would be grouped when you do a search for that particular month.
Go to the gallery and type in the keyword in the search box and all the cards that are in that area will come up.
Cindy, Diane, Mary, and Jean, welcome to the Christmas Card Challenges!! So glad you are joining in on the fun this year!!!
Also welcome to triciagal!!! How many card shall we put you down for each month?? And is your first name Tricia?
Remember, your monthly amount is for your benefit, make as many cards as you would like a month!!
Lynn - I've done a few cards but I am with you that my mojo seems to have disappeared right now!! Maybe it's the cold or just all the running around and prep for the holidays!
We need to get each other enthused to get creative!!
That's why I want everyone creating!! Then I will be inspired by all they have made!!...That...And..Did you know pain and creativity don't mix..Oh well!
Thanks Ann...yes it did answer my question. This is what I think you are saying...1) If you just go to the CCC17 gallery the cards will be there according to the date entered.
2) If you go the that gallery and do a search using the month in the keyword, i.e., CCC17JAN, it will come up with the January 2017 cards only.
RIGHT?

Good morning . . .
I was stressing out the week OF Christmas this year to get my cards made and mailed--and had a slight setback when my "lovely" dog decided she liked what I had made SO much that she ate about 10 of the completed ones and bit into another 6. I still mailed those 6 to close family members and pointed to her "signature." LOL But, had I not waited so long, I'd not have had them spread all around with the Nuvo drops drying and she (with the help of the cat, I'm sure) could not have ruined them.
With all of that being said, I'd like to join in to do 10 projects (cards, tags, gift card holders, etc.) per month so that people actually get their cards BEFORE Christmas this year.
Yes! YES! YES!
I NEED to get in on this challenge group! I am soooooo excited
How could I have missed this for so many years!?
I love the themes and have printed out a list of them.
Kathg3262 - Kathy - my goal to start out will be 2 cards a month
I am always in a panic to get Christmas cards made for the family members I give gifts to. The gifts are usually just a piece of paper, a/k/a checks and a fancy homemade card. Seriously that is what they ask for - the gorgeous cards. I do buy for the 3 children on my list.
Thank you , Ann, and everyone else involved in creating this.
Welcome to the three K's - Kathi, Kim, and Kathy!!
Excited that you will be joining us!! Can't wait to see your cards!!
Kim, I can just see in my mind as you described the scene of losing your handmade cards! Oh I am so sorry that happened! Hopefully no mishaps this year!!
I so dislike having to scramble to get cards made for the holiday!
That is why during the steaming hot days of summer I usually address my envelopes and start pairing up cards with recipients! I'm really bad that way, my family always says, "Ann time to dust off your holiday cards and send them out"!!
With five children I always needed to stay ahead on everything!! Just got in the swing of it and now that they are all grown up I still do it!!
Ann, name is Pat (short for Patricia). I will commit to creating a minimum of 2 cards per month. I am hoping I can churn out more. Thanks for coordinating this challenge.
