***UPDATE**** For March, post your completed cards to the March...... link.
Were you stressed by trying to complete your holiday cards this year? Do you wish they had been completed before Thanksgiving (or even Christmas)? Then this is the thread for you! We have volunteered to coordinate this year--myself (Lisa - iluvf14) and Linda (broomski) hope we can do as wonderful a job as Jami and Shelley did last year.
Join the Christmas 2006 Monthly Challenge!!!! Just complete 10 Christmas cards every month (through 11/30) and you should have plenty (or a HUGE start) of cards to send out for the holidays!! I did this for 2005 and, boy, am I glad I did--talk about reduced stress.
If you finish your Christmas cards you can continue the challenge by moving on to holiday Thank You cards (or you can mix it up and do some of each throughout the challenge). You can join anytime. Just let me know what month you want to start and what month you will be finished (depending on the number you need to make). The idea is NOT to stress so if you miss a month don't try to make it up 3 months later---just say to yourself "I'll start over again next month". (I hear that people were doing 6 months at once cuz they got behind, but that kind of defeats the purpose) Cards for one month should be finished before the end of the following month (for instance, June's cards should be done before the end of July) to make it easier on yourself and easier to keep track of on this thread.
Make your cards any way you like - make 100 of the same card 10 at a time or make a different set of 10 each month or make each card completely different and unique. It's totally up to you. I'll update this post to show the people who have joined us. Just post to this thread to let us know you want in. Then each month when you complete your 10 cards, upload your photos (use CC in the title) and post a message to this thread.
As in incentive, we will be awarding a small prize to the person who completes their cards first EACH MONTH. For each month you complete (before the end of the following month), your name will be put in a drawing for the "year end prize basket". To help us out, we are asking those who join to PLEASE send in a couple small items for prizes (SU! or non-SU!, a handmade item, or some extra "toys" you have laying around) or a $$ donation to help with mailing costs for prizes----I will provide the first month's prize myself to get it going. Please PM me for the snail mail address.
PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS NOT A SWAP!!!!
PLEASE do NOT post your email address in the thread---for safety sake!! PM your email to ILUVF14 or BROOMSKI and we'll get you signed up!!
In 2005, there were over 100 people originally joined and 67 completed the challenge. Let's try to beat that in 2006!!! So - are you with us????
PARTICIPANTS-
PRIZES indicates I have received a contribution for the prize drawing baskets.
** indicates I still need your email address--please PM me if you'd like to be on the mailing list to receive updates and such.
Oh man do I need this!!! I STILL haven't started my Chirstmas cards for this year!!!! (At least I narrowed it down to two choices this morning..)
Please email me with the address for the prizes (this way I remember to actually do it, I have good intentions, but a bad memory.) stampqueen1231 at msn dot com

Okay--Sign me up! I have never done this before, but it sounds like fun! And with about 5" of snow on the way (yuck!) I will have lots of time to develop an idea! There are couple of techniques I have been wanting to try. So sign me up for Feb-Oct. Let me know some ideas for prizes since I am new to all of this plus where to send them.
Thanks

I am probably listed as one of the ones who did not complete the challenge - but in truth I did! I just didn't get 'round to posting. This challenge really helped and now I will be able to send handmade cards to EVERYONE on my Christmas list - with plenty leftover for last minute exchanges or even cards for next year! I hope to continue with 10 cards per month January through October. (November is just too busy for me to be relied on for anything!)

Please count me in. I loved this last year (it REALLY helped!!!) I will be making cards for all 12 months, starting in January
Thanks so much for organizing this again!
I would like to sign up too! I'm still making my cards for this year. I just
started last week 55 down & 15 to go! I so wanted to be all done by
the end of October. Thank you for setting this up!

Count me in! I guess I need to be accountable to someone other than myself in order to get my Christmas cards done without last minute stress. Looking forward to it! ܰ

Sign me up also. Wonderful idea. I love making Christmas cards and now I have a reason to do them all year long! Please let us know what and where to send prizes. Thanks for taking this on.
I have a quick question!!! I'm new and am confused about something. If you are making a 100 of the same cards (10 cards per month) than do you still need to upload the same card every month?
I did this a couple years ago with a friend and swore I'd do it again. Didn't happen. But that year was a lot more stress free so will do it for next years Christmas.
Well of course you know I'm going to sign up! How could I not after hosting last year? I was going to hold out and wait to sign up till after Christmas, but what the heck! Lisa - go ahead and sign me up now. LOL!
If anyone would like to see pics of the 2 prize baskets being mailed out to this year's drawings winners you can go to Forums at Splitcoaststampers
and see the last post #316. This year we just had 2 drawings. I love Lisa's idea of having monthly drawings!!!
Thanks again for taking this over. I know you will do a fantastic job!
This sounds great! I have no idea how I will ever get this done otherwise. I'm actually using all the leftover store bought cards <-------ewwww to send out this year. I know shameful, but that's my life right now. Sign me up!!!!

Sign me up! I made a bunch of Christmas cards and sold them. Now I don't want to do my own cards! I think I'm going to skip Christmas 2005 and start working on 2006.
Count me in for Jan - Nov. This year I did not stress that much, but I still could use all and any help I can get. PM me and let me know where to send the prizes and if they need to be SU! or any stamping item.

I'm in as well. I didn't even want to take on this kind of project for this year but doing 10 per month is something I can handle. I will do Jan - Oct.

I will do this again too. It was so much easier to sit down & put cards in envies than to have to make cards in December!! In fact I made so many I have about 10 leftover...
