Thanks for the 2021 monthly organization list, that is a great help in planning. Thanks especially for bringing back the WHEAT organization they are doing great work for our troops. Sarge
I was so impressed with WHEAT - what they do and how much they responded! I love that group too!!!

Hi,
I posted this same question in another section... sorry!
Does anyone know if cards can be sent to any organization with a stamped sentiment inside?
I have an abundance of cards from my Etsy store that I closed down and I would really like to give them away rather than throw them out.
Thanks!
Polly Libby
Hi Polly: I have a suggestion for you. W.H.E.A.T. (We Honor Every American Troop) uses cards by sending the cards to military folks that they can use to send back to their loved ones. The organization supplies stamps and writing utensils to troops who are deployed along with the cards. It is a great program and I'm sure they would appreciate your cards. They can be contacted at WWW.honortroops.org. Their mailing address is W.H.E.A.T., PO Box 304, Colfax, WA 99111. As a retired military person, I really appreciate all that they do and I am sure they will appreciate your help. I am willing to assist you in your postage costs to send them these cards if you need assistance. Just PM me an address. Sincerely, Kay Robinson (Sarge)
Polly, Sarge is right - WHEAT would love some cards....as well as any of the organizations we feature each month. It's so generous that you are willing to donate the cards from your shop!!! Thanks for being so generous!
Thank you for the suggestions, ladies. I have already gotten boxes ready to fill with cards! Such a relief to give them to people who will appreciate them!
I have just now found Cards for a Cause!! I used to send to Operation Write Home, so I knew their parameters. Many of the Causes I see on your list don't say if the cards we send are to cheer up the individual recipients OR for recipients to send to their friends/family. OR for the organization to sell for fundraising. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW.
Can someone give me the proper Internet address for the W.H.E.A.T. organization? I googled it but couldn’t find it. I’m not very good with computers/internet. Thank you!

According to this post, W.H.E.A.T. closed its doors in 2021.

I will try to be more specify with the details, but I don't think any of the charities are/were using the cards for fundraising, at least not directly. Most are giving the cards to their own employees or patrons or residents, depending on the type of organization, to encourage, congratulate or thank them. I supposed if they are sending/giving thank-you cards to donors it could indirectly be considered part of fundraising, but they aren't selling the cards to raise money.
Can anyone tell me how t o get to my past Messages or how to send a essage?
At the very top of the screen, to the right our your username and to the left of the "log out" link, there is a little icon that looks like an envelope. If you click on that it will take you to your inbox where you can see your messages. Once you get there, on the left side of the screen there will be a column with a number of options including about half way down under Private Messaging, there is a link for Send New Message.
