Good morning, SCS Family! Happy National Chocolate Cupcake Day! Will you celebrate? (I probably will, but I'll take my chocolate minus the cake and preferably in dark chocolate form. )
Today, I bring you a sketch based upon the card I envisioned and then made for my parent's Anniversary back in August - I had so much fun with this "fun shaped" card, I just had to make it into a sketch challenge in hopes you all would have some fun with it, too! 😁
It took a bit of thinking when I decided to go the route of haven't-been-here-since-elementary-school paper hearts for the shape of their card, but I did figure it out to some extent (I think!). Hopefully these instructions will help others of us here who might not be of the gifted few who can churn something like this out with their eyes closed!
Quote:
Steps to execute a heart-fold card, at least per yours truly: (I have also attached pictures of the template steps to hopefully make it make more sense.)
Make your template:
Take an 8 1/2 x 11" scrap piece of paper from your recycling bin
Fold in half
Fold in half again
Carefully trim out half of a heart the size and shape you desire. (Be mindful of the size of your envelopes! My card is actually intended for a 5 X 7", or A4-sized, envelope, and sized accordingly, but you'll have to make your card smaller to fit in a standard A2-card sized envelope.)
Make your card base:
Take a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of card stock, score, and fold in half.
Lay your template on top (being sure the "folded edge" of the template butts up to the folded edge of your base cardstock!), andlightlytrace with a pencil.
Cut along your pencil line.
Decorate as desired.
***If you find these instructions cumbersome or just plain aren't feeling a heart-shaped card, you are more than welcome to incorporate a big heart into a standard-sized card!
**If you play along with this week's sketch, please take a second to come back and post it here! That way, I'll be notified about your card and can come admire your awesome work!
Thank you to the entire sketch team for their lovely examples this week to stir up your creativity!
The gallery for this sketch can be found here:SC980 GALLERY
Have a GREAT week everyone, and I hope you have LOTS of fun with this one!
Blessings,
Chrissy

Thank you Chrissy for the cool sketch challenge. I fussy cut my heart, and used a hearts background stamp, but adding the twist of a Halloween themed card theme Repurposed some red ribbon, and the stamped image of the little girl with an oversized pumpkin. Here's Hearts & Pumpkins
