Default Paper Trends is becoming Handmade

I as just on the site that publishes Paper Trends and read that this magazine will change it's name/slight focus to handmade with the December issue! Here's the site link- click on handmade in the top "banner" on the page.

http://www.scrapbooktrendsmag.com/index.html

While I'm disappointed I am also curious. I am also a recent subscriber and did not get notice of this from the publisher - did anyone else? I stumbled on this by accident sorta since I was interested in the handmade magazine. I just hope it's a not full of sewing projects (I can't sew to save my life). But I'd be ok with food recipes ;)

Wow! From the Christmas issue, it looks like the OLD Crafts mag. before they caved to trendy and cut their size way down. That is when I stopped my subscription. On the front are simply sewn Christmas trees potted, so, there'll be a bit of sewing. Those trees can be hand sewn. The pretty ornaments in a clear container looks stenciled. What was it, 145 pages? Thats a packed mag. but 6 issues for $45. is too rich for my pocketbook. There are tons of handmade decor books at the library and available for FREE. Thanks for the heads-up. May God bless, Sandi

I get that magazine, and that is correct there are a very limited number of ads in it and lots of well designed and interesting projects. The designers I have talked to that have had projects scheduled to be published in the new magazine talk as though it is more altered projects and handmade gift type things as opposed to a lot of cards. I suppose that is because they already have a magazine for Cards and wanted to have a new focus for Paper Trends.

Has anyone who was a Paper Trends subscriber received their Simply Handmade??

I subscribed in August and was never told it was changing and I was never notified.
Anyone got the scoop?

I agot my first issue about 2 weeks ago of simply homemade. And I love it. But I do more crafts than just making cards and scrapbooking. I would call the company. I had called them about a week before it shipped and they told me the exact date it was shipping to my area.
Good luck and I hope that you love it.

I saw this at Ms the other day. Looked interesting. Would love to hear feedback from those of you that have had some time for a more in-depth review.

Thanks BetzW. Just got off the phone with customer service. She was very friendly and helpful. She said that some of this month's issues of Simply Handmade were just recently shipped. Yay!

It's probably a good move for them, since it's purpose wasn't as well defined as Scrapbook Trends, Cards, or Beads. I love those magazines. Costly, but worth it.
