New Hobby Lobby opening in Latham NY

Hi. Me and my dh were shopping in Latham NY today and were heading over to AC Moore when I saw a small Hobby Lobby coming soon sign and started yelling "Hobby Lobby is coming"! I scared him just a little bit! haha It's going in the same plaza where AC Moore is and it is going to be where Bon Ton was. I Can't wait!!! I went on Hobby Lobby's web site and it said the planned opening date so far is 2/21. Just wanted to let everyone know.

For sure, I am all excited about this! I have been to the ones near Syracuse & Poughkeepsie on trips, but to have one so close will be so great! I heard about a March opening, so it may be even sooner!

As someone that works in Hobby Lobby Poughkeepsie YES there is a store opening in Latham... the grand opening is scheduled for 2/21. I was asked to go up and help with the store setup... not sure I'm heading up however because I would miss 2 important dates here at home for me... But you will LOVE the store!

I am from Ontario but DH and I go to NY every August and usually stay around Latham........DH goes up to Saratoga .......I shop

I was at the closing of that Bon Ton last Aug.......bought lots and lots.

Glad to see a Hobby Lobby going in there.....one more thing for me to do while hubby is at the track...yeah!!

I was just on the HL site and the Latham store is scheduled to open Friday, Feb. 18. Can't wait! I've never been in one, but have read here on SCS they have a lot to offer. I may just have to take the day off from work...:rolleyes:

I am so JEALOUS!!

I don't think we'll ever get an HL in southern California - the darn real estate here is so expensive!!!

My and my sis went to an HL in Michigan on vacay over 4 years ago - and we still talk about it to this day:p

FYI--Just called Hobby Lobby and they are already opened as of yesterday, 2/16/11. Am planning my first trip there tomorrow!!

I actually went yesterday and it was pure joy! The best part is the music - pleasant and conducive to browsing, unlike the loud noise in every other store these days. I have to get my wish lists in order now - Hobby Lobby is going to be getting some $$$ from me!

I imagine you are printing off coupons from the website for you and DH? Too bad it isn't one of those weeks when they have a "super" sale where the scrapbook paper, stamps, stickers are all 50% off! For sure, your trip would be worth it then. Enjoy! And go to Michael's across the street where they still have lots of clearance - scrapbook paper pads, stickers, etc. cheap!

I am so excited!!!! I lived in Florida for a couple years and discovered Hobby Lobby there. And now thet are going to be less than 10 miles from me! I just checked and they are open TODAY!! I will be checking them out. It seems kind of weird that they would be in the same Plaza as AC Moore. and there's a Michaels across the street? I'd love to see one in Rotterdam, NY. That would be heaven..

I'm going to HL tomorrow, we have one in New Port Richey Fl. So excited about it!!! I have so much on a wish list. I'm thinking about copics they sell them there. They are $40 for 6, is that a good deal or not. Can't wait!:p

Yes, we have Beverly's. There is one close to my house but I haven't been there in awhile.

They usually have an OK paper selection but not much in the way of stamps.

Yes, coupons are available online pretty much each week from what I've seen on from Hobby Lobby's website. You can also sign up or register so their weekly announcements (usually including a coupon) come right to your email-box.
