A Neat Thing Happened to me Today!
I was at Michaels checking out the new Martha stuff (not impressed, by the way). There was a Michaels employee in the aisle and we started chatting about the line. I mentioned about being a SU! Demo and that I teach classes. It turns out, she's class coordinator for the store. She invited me to fill out an application to be an instructor at Michaels! I'm so excited! I go tomorrow to fill out the rest of the forms and hopefully I'll be teaching a lunch tin or card-making class there soon!

Good for you! Hope you have a wonderful and successful class. It would be great if my local Michael's offered SU! classes!!
Anyone out there live in Vallejo, CA? You would have one person ready and willing to attend a class!!

It's actually not going to be an SU! class. I will have to take off my SU! Demo hat and put on my Michaels Instructor hat, which is fine for me. I love sharing what I do and Michaels will be another outlet to do that.

Hello,
You can still teach classes. Just cannot present as a SU demonstrator.

Welcome to the family! I do the same thing. It's very confusing sometimes to keep your "Michael's" hat seperate from your "SU!" hat. I really do miss my SU! stamps when I'm trying to come up with projects for Michael's, not to mention all my matching paper and pens. I think I'm spoiled!

One of my downline is a Michael's instructor and I'm an instructor at Recollections which is owned by Michael's.
When I create a project for Recollections, I use their products and miss our coordinating paper, inks and accessories. On the other hand, I get to teach classes using products that Stampin' Up! doesn't offer.
Good luck with getting your job at Michael's.

That is good news!
That happened to me one time when I was at one of our local Michaels store.
There Lady had left and they were needing someone to replace her.
I did teach one class on cardmaking. But Craft cordnator wanted someone that could teach both Cardmaking and Scrapping. Which I don't do.
Anyway Good luck!! have fun with it.;) ;)

I was wondering about being able to do both...teach at Michaels and be a SU! demo. I work at M's and I teach card classes and I am about to become a demo - I was worried I couldn't do this, so I figured I would look on here to see what you guys have talked about.

I think the main issue of them not having their classes full is the lack of advertising.
