I have read the details of some of the events in the events caledar. I have also emailed two ladies who seem to be the coordinator of gatherings in other towns.
It seems they can be rather formal or not depending on how many are interested. Only one lady has contacted me thus far.
They are are having a 7 hour event at a rented hall with a pot luck lunch. It seems as though they are having a shoebox swap as well as others.
If I saw a lot of people were interested, I would be willing to see what I could arrange. It doesn't look much harder than my extremely casual wedding reception.
My husband does a lot of work for a real estate company. I bet I could get space cheap at one of their properties. My church rents their hall, too.
Oooooooo. Shawn, you have the con. I'll help. We need to determine a minimum number, ding everyone for upfront money to rent hall, etc. If no agreement on how much or keeps control of money or not enough people, those interested will just meet for lunch and a swap! Piece of cake. No worries!
I'm in Citra, just north of Ocala. Tampa is close enough for me on a weekend!
Okay! I just started at a new station. I will go in tomorrow and see what weekends I can get off.
Ideally I am thinking the weekend of June 17 because hubby will be out of town and I will need to take off for the kids. I will make them help me with preparations and then pawn them off on Mom or Sis.
I live in Pensacola, but I usually go down to Tampa about every other month and it's an easy drive for me...count me in, plus my BF who lives in Plant City...she'll be there to if we have one :-)
I'm in Tallahassee, but my in-laws live in Brooksville, so we are down that way quite often. I would definitely be interested and bet I could interest some other people as well.
I live in Sarasota and would be interested, but have to have surgery this summer. I'm trying to schedule my 6 week "recovery" period to coincide with convention (the end of recovery), but let me know the dates. Just love to stamp and surgery can wait!..maybe not convention though...
Not fair!!!!! I'm "going north" to NC the first of May. They are having get together May 14 but I'm going to be out of the country. I can't win wherever I am. Boo hoo!!!!!
Sounds like there's lots of ladies in SCS in Florida. Would icensheba in Citra like to come to our stamp club as a guest next meeting? PM me if you are.
I am in Gainesville (going to school there, but am from Tallahassee) but am in Tampa all the time- I have a ton of customers there plus one of my best friends lives there! So if it's a go, I'm interested, if you wouldn't mind that i am a young-un (22!) Let me know if there is anything I can do!

I'm just north of Orlando. Tampa's not a tough drive at all on a weekend. Heck, i just might stay overnight for fun! Dont count us central and east coasters out!
Sounds like lots of fun to me!

Only date mentioned so far is June 17 and the lady who mentioned it, can't come that day? Anyone remember when the show is in Orlando? May or June? I'll go look, but we don't want to do it on that weekend. That would be bad!
I'm pretty new to stamping and would love to join in. I know just a few other stampers in the area. I'm in Tampa -- Riverside Heights, just north of downtown. We will be around all summer until the beginning of August when we will take our family vacation before school starts up again.
Thanks, Amy
I'll make a list of everyone who's interested. If you send me a pm with your e-mail list, we can keep everyone informed. We'll also keep the thread going. Shawn can check with her church about availability of a room and how much for a day and the use of the kitchen fridge and oven for a potluck lunch. We also need to think about what we're going to do besides a swap. I have a few neat things I can do as a project. Willing to do one of them and bring the stuff for however many sign up. Can't wait!
"Tampa Stampa Campa" sounds like a Mafia get together, but I like it. I have four out of 17 ladies' e-mail addresses. PM me with yours and I'll add you to my list. Much easier to mass mail an e-mail than doing individual PM's, especially when they don't work like they didn't this morning. Looks like Daven has been at work. I got to look at today's additions and here I am replying.
Hi, Ladies. Shawn said we need to decide soon on a date because of weddings at her church. Is Sat., June 4 good for most of you. Can't please everybody all the time, but will try. Shawn also wanted to know who all could come, whether they had to be SCS'ers or what. Whitney can come, even though she's under 23 (har har). Like I said above, I need your e-mail addresses for mass mailings. Otherwise, my notes will mostly be on here.
I'm starting to get excited. I loooooovvve stamp camps!
I have six e-mail addresses out of 16 ladies that expressed an interest in a get together in Tampa. Looks like we'll have a smaller group than I thought, but smaller is good. We can learn more and get to know each other better. This is my last post to this thread, unless I get more. Will communicate with the six ladies I have by e-mail tonight.
I have seven e-mail addresses and Shawn has more information that I will be e-mailing probably tomorrow. Got too wrapped up in finding this thread to have much more time this evening. Glad Daven got the forums back.
I'm in Apollo Beach and would LOVE something organized in Tampa! Not sure if the June dates will work for me or not. I will also e-mail another stamper in Riverview to let her know.
Oh, Ann - thanks for the email! I would love to come to an SCS gathering here! If we had a community center, I would volunteer but we only have a pool - no clubhouse.

Hi, ladies. I sent out a PM to those I don't have e-mail addresses for and look forward to adding you to my list. NavyWyf, your PM allegedly didn't work as your inbox is too full. Send me a PM with your e-mail and I will add you to my list for an e-mail either tonight or tomorrow with what information I have so far.
Kathy, I just e-mailed you my address. But for the one coming from out of town, I have a spare bedroom that is open to anyone that wants to use it.
I live in Clearwater.

That's sweet of you Mary Anne. I'll pass your offer along in my e-mail of tonight or tomorrow, depending on when I hear from Head Honcho What's in Charge, Shawn. I added your e-mail to my list, my ever growing list!
Hi! I'm brand new to this posting stuff, so hope I get it right. I would love to come to the event in Tampa. I'm pretty active here in Bradenton. My email address is [email protected].
