I'm so excited. I just had to share my news, because so few of my friends and family will understand what this means to me. Today I found the September issue of the Rubber Stamper in my mailbox and I'VE FINALLY BEEN PUBLISHED. I can't believe it!!!! This is my first time.
I have 3 cards on pages 62-63 and the article is entitled STAMPING ON OLD PANTYHOSE.
I just wanted to thank my friend and demo Valli for pushing me to finally send something in and for the members of Splitcoast for their encouraging comments in the gallery. I don't think I would have thought my cards were worthy of being published without the wonderful comments from SCS members and the support of my friend Valli!!
CONGRATS! And you're so right - most regular, non SCS people just don't understand the joy and how BIG of a deal it is!!! I have yet to muster the courage to submit anything (other than one SU contest in which I didn't win, but I did wind up on Stamper's Showcase!) to a magazine for possible publication, so I totally applaud you. Way to go!!!!!
Lisa, I just started flipping through the magazine again and I see your beautiful tree card on page 91. It's gorgeous and I really like your choice of colors!! Congratulations!!
The only other name I recognize is Cindy Lyles (aka starlitstudio). Her wonderful stamp room is featured in the September issue also.
I don't recognize any other names. Are there any other SCSers in the September issue of the Rubber Stamper??
Congratulations Brenda! I just received my copy of Ruber Stamper in the mail today (thanks to my sister for the gift subscription). After reading your post, I turned right to pages 62 & 63 and saw your great cards. We are all proud of you for your acomplishment! Congratulations to Lisa and Cindy, too! SCS rocks!
Debbie, That is our Sheltie puppy Bella. She is six years old now, but I still call her my puppy. One day I'll change my avatar to Bella as she looks now. She's beautiful not only on the outside, but is the most loving, sensitive dog on the inside as well. I wish they would live as long as we do.
Stamping on Old Pantyhose is one of the first articles I read, the cards you made are BEAUTIFUL.... I think I need to go out and get some panty hose ;) Congrats to you!
Congratulations to all of you. Now I have another reason to go to the store - must check these out. Must admit I am epecially curious about stamping on panty hose!
gmommy, I will attach a picture of one of my pantyhose cards that I did not send in for publication. Actually this was my first attempt and then I improved upon it with the cards that I sent in
Basically to stamp on pantyhose, I stretched the leg of pantyhose over a piece of cardstock and then stamped right onto it with regular classic ink and encore ink. After stamping you can tear holes or distress the pantyhose. In the leggy vase card that is in the rubber stamper, I cut out the shape of a vase, stamped on it, covered it with xyron and adhered the pantyhose to it and then sprinkled embossing powder over top and melted it. It was a lot of fun stamping on something that I used to loathe wearing.
I hope that answers your question. If you have any more please PM me.
Take care, Brenda
Brenda, panty hose!! What a great idea. Whatever made you think of trying those?
I was cleaning out my closet one Saturday and I came across all this old pantyhose that I haven't worn since before I became a SAHM. I actually have never enjoyed wearing pantyhose, but just couldn't throw them out either and then I thought why not try stamping on it. We stamp on almost everything else.
Oh my goodness there are so many of us SCSers in this issue - way to go!!! I was kinda disappointed that they edited out what I told them about SCS, Daven and Tracey. I also mentioned Lana Lepinski and her reknowned Gamsol/stumps/Prismacolor technique...but they wanted to keep it 'organizational' related. Oh well. LOVE SCS & LOVE YOU LANA!!!
Oh my gosh!! I saw those and thought to myself "who would ever think of doing that??"...figures it is an SCSer!!! Congratulations on your accomplishment. One day I hope to be published also.

A friend emailed me about the article...her subject line for the email was Panyhose! I thought, oh know, there are health benefits published on wearing panyhose....see, I hate wearing them! She got my attention and here it involves stamping! What a wonderful way to use them! And it does have health benefits....stamping is cheaper than therapy!!!!!!!!;)
